Film Speed

Post by bfjames74 »

I just bought a Nizo 4056 and I'm about try out pro8mm professional film stock. What I'm wondering is whether there is any adjustment needed for different film speeds. I'm going to be using an incident meter in addition to the camera's reflected light meter, so am I safe just setting the incident meter for whatever ASA I'm shooting and using those readings, or is there something else I need to do? The reason I started wondering about this is because inside the film door of my camera it says something to the effect of, "uses 50-400 ASA film."

Thanks,

Bruce

unlike beaulieu cameras, i don't the the nizos can set film speed. say if you're using pro8mm 200T films, there's no way you can set it.

well since the cameras automatic meter goes upto 400 it may actually support it correctly. I dont know though, my suggestion would be to compare the automatic meters readings with those of an external meter once you put the film in, and see if it is metering correctly, if its not then just do it all manually. Make sure your meter is adjusted correctly for your camera before trying this.
