Hi everyone, At the moment there are 19 confirmed... i am typing out the lists to go with the carts and as soon as i have them complete and all addresses from those taking part, i can send them off.
I'm thinking that i could send out 5 carts now and up the film time to 30 seconds 8O... but 5 carts will be my limit for this project at the moment. thanks to everyone so far... i'll update as i go along.
I have also decided that i will keep the addresses and will only send out via this forum (PM's) the address for the carts next destination.

You can add me to the list as well. Also, if it is needed, I'll contribute my last Cart of K40 to the project. It is expired, but has been in my freezer. I'll PM my address.

Bear with me for a bitmojohey wrote: I'm happy to send out 3xKodachrome 40 (or more) carts to the forum, so members can take part in a film your city; town; car; wife; dog whatever and then send it on to another member. After the cart is fully exposed... whoever is last can send it back to me and i'll ship it to Switzerland.
This might work or its just another Red Wine crap idea... but the rules are... (feel free to make suggestions)
Thanks. Morris.
Some benefits to you of receiving these short clips via electronic media:
- no shipping, fogging, fatal loss/damage
- increased participation allowed
- immediate participation allowed
- removal of specific filmstock constraints [quantity, type] resulting in higher overall clip quality
- auto-comparison of telecine services involved [lots!]
You could set standards for file types and provide an upload...thingy. 20 seconds shouldn't be too much. You could avoid overload/multiple simultaneous upload thru email communication.
I agree with the idea of a connecting theme, and since it's international, maybe location should be the focus. It would be neat to catch people in big cities being nice to each other, but then ironically, you'd have legal crap to deal with...if you want to show the film...

Mitch that sounds like a different idea. Equally good, but quite different. Part of the fun of this is the inefficiency of sending a cart around the world.
I'm in. (Will be in touch with Jusetan and Vidwerk).
Ironically, if a cart gets shot entirely in, say, Toronto:) it's less fun. I don't really want to trade rolls with a couple people in the neighbourhood. I could do that any time.
Around the world I say.

After having put some thought to it, I think I might chime in.
Within 30 seconds, I might be able to capture a shot of our beautiful townhall, that place I work in (crowds of tourists come to oogle at it every day and we use to see them looking out of our windows), and the most beautiful sight from public transport.
