Experimental Filmmaking

Post by Thomas JI »

HI everyone, its been a long time since I have been here. For a while my filmmaking hobby collasped on itself horribly. I lost my best friend, got kicked out of every concieveable place, and ran out of "ideas". Then It dawned on me..

Why try to make something elaborate? Why do what everyone is doing in Sundance? Then I realized that I can make experimental films, since they have no boundries or rules at all.

Finally, I can just get away with 1 to 2 people crews! Heaven!

Anybody know of good sources for experimental film?

Definitely, go for it!!

A similar thought struck me lately... I looked at some of the super-8 I shot when i was like 17, i didn't worry about anything back then, just had 2 100watt bulbs + shot random svankmajer-esque weird stop motion with toys + junk.... no worrying about telecine or anything, no need to use computer, no crew/planning... just filmed some stuff!!!!! need to get back to that menatlity! :)

Uhhh.... Sources for films, or info or what?
