But here is for germany :

I don't ever send anything there for service so I don't know how good they are. Though you should ask on the http://www.super8.de forum. I had a bad experience from sending my Beaulieu to service in Paris. Be carefull.

In sweden ? To Bjorn Anderson ? Every body tell that he do incredible service.
I gave a working 4008zm4 for lubrification, service & lens colimation in a Paris shop, the camera took almost 3 month to be done but each time I went there to ask when my camera will come back, I found it at the same place the guy puuted it when gave him. When the camera came back, I just took it & looked thru the viewfinder & this one was way more dirty than when I gave him. He said "the paint in it is falling, can do nothing about it". I said the viewfinder was clean when I gave him & the camera was already 25 years old. He said "Ok, I'll try, but this is the late time (!!!)". I took it back two month later & still think nothing was done cause the viewfinder is still very dirty. It costed me 200 euros.
Bjorn, if you're reading it, is it really the paint ?

4008 service

Matt,

There are only glass in the viewfinder. From the okular to the groundglass. The only place in this system where we can talk about "paint" is what is protecting the outsides of the reflex areas of the prism. When the prism "ages" the reflex will get a bit "foggy" and unsharp. This happends sometimes, luckely not so often. The prism is not so cheap.

repair services for Leitz Leicina in Germany

Post by nik-super8 »

Hello cineandy,

last year I wrote an inquiry to the company

Morenz Fotoreparatur Meisterbetrieb, Urbanusring 13, 63906 Erlenbach, 09372 5951 (Tel + Fax)

about a repair of an old photo camera.
I received a response within a week.
Unfortunately, they couldn`t help me because they didn`t have the spare part anymore.

They didn`t do any repair for me but I think they are a reliable company.

In the publication "SCHMALFILM", issue 9-10/2002 on page 5, the editors recommended the 3 companies of the list in their readers forum for the service of Leitz Leicina cameras.

Maybe this is useful for you.

Bjorn : Actually, it's not fog but big black spots. Do you know were it could be from ? I got this too when the lens is off so not from the lens.

Jerome : Tu bricole toi même ??? C'est a dire ?
Et ton pote, y ait quoi exactement ?
Hé, t'es DJ ? Tu fais tourner quel son ? T'as un VJ ?

Matt
PS: j'ai pas de Leicina mais une 4008ZM4 et d'autre petites cam. comme une 5008s, une 4008ZM2 et une FUJI ZC1000. Et toi ?

Matt,

You have probably only some dirt on any of the lenses or ground glass in the viewfinder system. If you turn the groundglass knob, will it still be there? This dirt should have been removed, if the serviceman did know what to do. The only service/cleaning in your camera that has been done, was only to write out the invoice to you and clean your purse.
