I have just confidently ordered a Cinemate-PAL from MovieStuff USA which requires me to use a Mini DV Vidcam with a min optical zoom 12x and a fixable shutter 1/50. Roger has a Panasonic that qualifies with obviously US model numbers and Icannot track it down. Here in OZ Panasonic do not market anything similar in the affordable price bracket.
Can anyone shed any light on this please!? Also any Cinemate users ,tips on usage would be appreciated.
Cheers Geronimouse :?
P.S Sob Sob looks like my beloved Sony18e has to go!!

This will do the trick..
Hi,
as a fellow Aussie, I use the Canon MV 530i which has 18 x Optical and 1/50 Shutter speed... I have been doing mine 8mm filming off a white wall. Obviously not as good as a Cinemate but there it's still very accepatable.
So unless you're committed to Panasonic take a look at the Canon's.
A tip is if you don't need the lowish quality digital stills go for the MV500i.
It's identical other than no Multimedia Card..
