Adding a W/A adapter to a 9mm lens?

Post by Cineworks »

I'm looking for a cheap W/A setup... On e-bay there are plenty of 514XLs. And I just saw a Canon C8 W/A Adapter (.65X).

The Canon 514XL has a 9-45mm lens.

The question is, would the effective focal length of a 9mm lens coupled to a .65X adapter be 5.85mm? Or is there another way to figure this?

Thanks,

Sounds right. In this manual Canon said that a .65X adapter made 9.5mm into 6.2mm (presumably rounding off 6.175) :
