Why would anyone buy one *now* if they're going to cost less in a few weeks? Far better to offer a special rate to filmshooting|com readers right now that's equal to or better than your Christmas pricing.
But then what the hell do I know about pricing consumer goods? ;)
"This is a SPECIAL ORDER, that's why the price hike. It called "Supply and demand". There isn't that much of a supply or demand for these films."
I think we all understand this, but S8 is a small enough market as it is. I can't really imagine many people wanting to get themselves into a situation where film is even more expensive and hard to obtain :?
You are totally correct...why would we? There is not reason in the world to buy Kodak film. NONE!
I said it before...and I'll say it again. They would only do it as a SPECIAL ORDER because of the films are on a truck to the factory where they make it into the various formats. So, in order to get the film in time, it had to be pushed through quickly. Otherwise, no film will be available from them for 10 months.
However, the alternative is simple. Just buy film from Andec or Wittner.
They sell Fuji film at less cost and it's just as good if not better film. They willl be releasing the Velvia 50 D soon. That's worth the wait.
The price on the Supermag is only going down for the christmas season, then it goes back to full price in January.
