Supermag site back up and Orders for Kodak film begin.
Finally, the site is back up.
To order Kodak film, go to the last two pages of the site. All the purchase information is there to get in on the first Kodak film lot.
http://www.supermag400.com
The deadline for your orders is Tuesday, November 1, 2005.
If you have questions, e-mail me.

Dave,
the 7266 Tri-x is reversal film.
But I do have a question, that could turn out as a piece of advice given too late (and maybe fustrate you, which is not intended). Why do you only offer stocks of types allready available in 50ft. carts?
As I understand it the supermag didn't sell quite as much as intended (yet), but why limmit you customer target group to that bunch of people? Why not offer a stock not else available and expand your clients to people wanting yet another stock? IMO it would help you sell more film AND get the order in. Or is it Kodak that only offers stock types allready in the S8 range?
If you offered something like the 50D I would for shure make and order, only as to help you along. But since I do not have any other options than 50 footers, then your selection of stock is holding me down.
I really like that you have decided to keep on fighting on this one. Keep going!

Hi,
I just "won" a "Beaulieu 1028 XL 60" on eBay. Hence I now do have a camera that would accept your supermag...
... but your page is missing a FAQ:
a) will the camera's 200feet/60meters-film-counter be damaged when loading more than 60meters? (Others have told me that this shouldn't be the case, but I wanted to hear this from the inventor itself.)
b) will your supermag work on other cameras than listed on your webpage (there are missing at least some Elmo-/Revue-/... models)?! Do I have to expect problems due to the supermag's dimensions when having an elmo with a fixed microphone? Problems due to the plate in the supermag?
c) will the supermag allow full rewind of the 400feet (e.g. in a nizo 6080)?
d) will the supermag allow "all 'normal' film speeds" of the listed cameras (single-frame to 80fps)?
e) it looks like there's a counter in the supermag... is it in feet, meters, frames, ...?

Dave, did you meant 0.40 cents (less than 1 cent) per foot or 40 cents per foot?Kodak 7266 Tri-X Black and White reversal film.......... .40 cents per foot. 400 feet Minimum order
40 cents X 50 ft= U$S 20 (the price of a Plus/Tri X 50ft cart is around U$S 15).
If it is so, Kodak must to offer lower prices for film bulks. Always and everywhere film bulks where cheaper than 50, 100, 200 or 400 ft. cans of film...
Carlos.

The Supermag can fit any camera that a Kodak cartridge fits. But the microphone would have to be seperate. There isn't any way to use a mic on the camera with the mag in the way. I have rigged up brackets for my camera for a light and mic. They are not hard to make.
The mag will work at single frame speeds, 18 and 24. I have not used it with faster cameras. It will work, but not sure how much faster the film moves through it. The motor is fast, but it would have to be tested. I don't have a camera for that.
You can't rewind in the Supermag 400. It only works forward. There isn't a rewind motor. You could shoot a few feet and back wind if the motor to the mag was shut off for it, but the footage would be limited. It would be prone to jamming....so I will not recommend it.
The footage counter is in feet. Not meters. It's geared to a 4:1 ratio so it can't be changed. 4 Turns of the sprocket counts as 1 foot. It's an accurate digital count. As for the counter issue. I've not had any problems with my Elmo 1012S-XL cameras counters. I've used them many times and the counters still function fine. They just stop at 200. If you need to, you could always open the door a bit to reset the counter. Then continiue to shoot. But I don't.
The price of the films are .40 cents per foot. 50 feet = $20.00
This is a SPECIAL ORDER, that's why the price hike. It called "Supply and demand". There isn't that much of a supply or demand for these films.

So I haven't sold any supermag400-compatible camera when selling my Elmo 2600 AF (which has got a fixed micorphone)... It is still not very clear. It is 40 cents or US$0.40 per foot.supermag400_inventor wrote:...

$160 for 400 feet is not very attractive considering shipping and customs to add. And all the handwork still needed to reel it in on a SD reels or a 200ft
Kind regards,
André

Just a note for Mac users:
don't try and visit http://www.supermag400.com
with Safari you'll only get the old site with no mention whatsoever of Kodak film. (I've been checking it for days and wondering  )
Of course it's all there with firefox.
