Sometimes I truly hate Kodak!
I sent in my film to the NJ Fairlawn address one week ago and I received my film back same way. With the mailer and the unprocessed film. I called and they never gave me the option to send it to MD. They told me I had to send it directly to Switzerland. Really bad that no one there knows whats going on.
The last time I used Kodak for processing they lost my DS8 K25 film for 3 weeks. It was found..sent back to me. Unprocessed. I sent it in.. they sent it back..unprocessed. I sent it the last time...and they lost it. I finally had my film about 6 weeks later processed. And then they called me and informed me that they lost it. I had to call them back to inform then that I received it already. uggh,.
Where do I send prepaid Kodachrome 40 in the USA?

Don't be so cheap for $5 and just send it to Dwaynes via Walmart (or Target so I am told). Heck, for that much trouble, shoot B&W and send it to a local lab.
Funny thing is, once K40 is gone, it WILL become a huge inconvenience to bother shooting film in the first place. Ahh well. Time for a change.

Cheap? I sent one roll to Dwayne's and one to Kodak using my last prepaid mailer. I wanted to see if there was a difference between the two. My roll from Dwaynes came back very quickly but a lot of the footage was a little soft. I shot both cartridges with the same camera so now I have to see if this is the case with both processed rolls.
The Kodak roll has not been seen yet.
And I intend to check out my new Leicina Special with Black and White film with processing through Pac Lab NYC. $10 per roll and same day. How great is that?

Walmart didn't work for me. I took a roll to my local Walmart on 9/23 and put it in their outlab envelope with "Kodachrome Movie Film - Process K14" written on it. I called the 1-800 number on the envelope a couple of days later and the automated system told me it would be back on 10/19. I went on 10/21 to get my film, found out it had been returned to the store on 10/3 but they hadn't bothered to call me. It was unprocessed with a sticker on the envelope saying "DO NOT RETURN TO VIDEOLAB - SERVICE UNAVAILABLE"super8man wrote:Don't be so cheap for $5 and just send it to Dwaynes via Walmart (or Target so I am told). Monobath, where are you? I only speak from my experience in the USA, and California at that. Again, if you are not in the USA, then you are screwed. You have to mail it directly to Dwaynes.
As for Elmogs, I cannot imagine a film's focus being SOFT due to processing...no, I can imagine a lot of other things happening but not the focus, the only real way you should have done your test (perhaps you did) was to do a double blind test where you did not know which cart went to which processing service and also did not know the order of the films as they were in the camera.
Best of luck though!@!!!!!

I'm in Dallas. I'm surrounded by Walmarts. I've only tried one of them. They outlab to Fuji.
I just called the Fuji lab 1-800 number and talked to a very nice lady who was very apologetic about the error. She said the store sent the film to the wrong Fuji location, and she told me to take it back to Walmart, talk to the photo manager and tell him to send my film back to her attention in a white customer rush envelope, and she would be sure it got processed.
I'll try that later today.
