Long exposures?

Currently I'm thinking about a project that would involve shooting long exposures (like anywhere from 5 to 30 seconds per frame) in low light, for a sort of time lapse effect. I was wondering if...well, basically if that's even possible, and if so, what kind of S8 camera would be able to do that sort of thing. Any help would be much appreciated.

only few cameras support such a feature ("B" exposure). They keep the shutter open until the amount of light is sufficient for the actual frame, and only then advance the film to exposure the next frame.
As far as I know, there had been an advanced Eumig model with such a feature. I am not shure with Bauer Royal and specific Nizo models.

A friend of mine had (or has) a Bauer model which I can not confirm the exact model of which is capable of long time exposure.

He explained that he could set the length of the shot he required and activated and left the cam auto exposure frame by frame the film until the total length of shot was achieved.

My friend is now an very old man and have problems to remember exactly which Bauer model which he used.

I have seen the actual film clip which was shot inside a Norwegian Stave Church with almost not natural light available and no artificial light used.

The result is stunning like typical long time Kodachcrome slide 35mm still cam shots.

These cameras can do that job:

Eumig 880/881 PMA, Revue TM8/TM8 and Bolex 680 (all of them are made by Eumig, almost the same camera except couple differences). This camera model has automatic time exposure mode, without manual "b" mode.

Bauer's models with that same feature (automatic exposure) are: Bauer A 512, Bauer A 508, and Bauer C Royal 6/8/10 E and E Macro ones.

The most versatile time exposure in super 8 area you'll find from Leicina super RT and Special models. Without ST-1 interval box they have only manual "b" mode, but with ST-1 you have both variable time exposure and time lapse feature with two different controls, one for time between frames and one for exposing time for one frame.

Personally I own Eumig 880 PMA (I had also Revue TM8, but I sold it), Bauer C Royal 10 E Makro and Leicina Super Rt with ST-1 interval box and they all do the job just great!
