That wasn't my point, but is an interesting take on the issue. Sacrifice of the common good for the private good, or vice versa? Is it valid or invalid, and how can you show that onscreen?Alex wrote:
So I guess your position is let's define a businesses credibility by whether or not they make us happy, irrespective of how they treat others.
Again, how best to portray in cinematic terms the feelings of anger and frustration generated by debate? How can somebody be so blind, or so wrongheaded? Can we or should we make circumstantial evidence into irrefutable truths?
And can you think of a way of showing visually the problem of communication between people? Is it possible to make a documentary that shows everyone's viewpoints in a fair light, or must the medium follow the Disney approved good guy/bad guy template :?: Or if you insist that there is a bad guy, how can you use the medium to show it? Eisenstein could, so can you.
Ladies & gents, here's a topic that has been beaten to death on the forum but whose guaranteed red-hot emotional grab is not yet exhausted. You've got the medium, the tools and the passion to prove it. Show don't tell.
I await your Oktober.
