Wallmart the Movie! please no flame war..
Super8man started a heated thread last time, I don't mean to do that this time. But there is actually a wallmart movie available on DVD. Just read a little more, turns out theres screenings in the USA.
Anyhoo, have a look and please flame on low!

Thanks for posting this chachi--I've heard about this film for a while. It is cool that its finally seeing the light of day.
For those that are interested, also check out the Frontline film "Is Wal-Mart good for America," available on DVD from PBS Home Video.
FWIW, I am now "hypocrisy-free" when it comes to Wal-Mart. On the powerful urging of my girlfriend, I decided to eat the small savings and sent the last two carts of K40 I shot directly to Dwayne's. All of my remaining K40 will be processed likewise. I encourage everyone else to consider doing the same.
From now on, I wouldn't piss on Wal-Mart if it was burning to the ground.

I just dropped off some K40 last Saturday - another partially shot cart that I'll finish off tomorrow will also be processed through Wal-Mart.
Even if it cost $9/cart I'd probably still go through Wal-Mart to avoid the hassle and extra costs of shipping.

Likewise. I hope you're satisfied paying twice as much not including shipping cost.

Oh, its not that big of a deal, a couple of pints, or cups of coffee. More than worth it to do what's right.Evan Kubota wrote:Likewise. I hope you're satisfied paying twice as much not including shipping cost.
If you're interested in expanding your horizons a bit and learning a little something, why don't you check out the Wal-Mart film? Maybe you'd find that its worth it for you too.

I bet the walmartmovie website address is shut down before the November premiere.chachi wrote:Super8man started a heated thread last time, I don't mean to do that this time. But there is actually a wallmart movie available on DVD. Just read a little more, turns out theres screenings in the USA.

I don't feel like getting into this now, but "what's right" is such a subjective concept that it's absurd for you or anyone else to dictate that for others. If you feel like you're somehow following your personal ethical code by not sending your film through Wal-Mart, fine. I don't consider sending my film through Wal-Mart to be "wrong" regardless of the price - that's just a bonus.

I've been in a WalMart two times in my life.
I don't think Walmart is entirely to blame. I once went into a couple of stores next to Walmart to compare prices. The competitions prices ON THE EXACT SAME ITEMS were 20-40% higher.
In addition, Walmart seemed to have an extra item from the same manufacturer not carried by the competition, and it usually was the best deal of all.
I ended up not buying the item because they wanted my zip code and I figured my Credit Card and ID info was more than plenty, they INSISTED on a zip code, so I left my items right there and walked out of the store.
