Re: Seeking your invaluable advice !

I have a shoot organised for this Sunday and I would be very grateful for any advice...the location is a jazz bar in Glasgow...its a fairly early gig and with GMT clocks having gone forward an hour we now have daylight until about 7-7.30pm. The bar has large windows which will let in a fair amount ...

Perhaps something like this.

Although I really don't want to spend that kind of money.

Looks like the obvious solution is to switch back to PC. Hope that doesn't start another Mac vs. PC war.

Re: Questions for Nizo owners - Exposing 4 different stocks

Have you tried using an external meter? If you have manual control over the f stop, then you won't need to worry. I find it easier to shoot with an external meter for more precise exposure.

I agree, processing is top notch and the tranfers are pretty good too.

From what I've seen transfers are the sharpest you can get without going to a professional post production facility.

I only wish that they offered a straight to hard drive option as uncompressed 10 bit. All for no extra ...

pro8mm.com offers the entire Fuji catalogue in Super 8. I have used some of the stocks with great success.

Re: Shot My First Test Roll, Advice Needed.

Okay, so I got my first test roll back and this was film that should have been used and processed by 10/76. It was shot and developed in 7/06! Really, it was all very washed out and the colors were a little funny...at best you can see the last minute of film. Shot on a Bolex S1 with the ASA between ...

Focal length is the same because it is inherrent to the lens; coverage is smaller because its almost half the size of film hence it seems like a different focal length.

I think you already understood this, so sorry if I'm stating the obvious.

It seems like its not that important of a distinction ...

Re: Digital Timed Exposure

I recently bought a DVX100 and came across this on the DVXuser forum.
It was shot with a digital SLR. I've tried this myself, but no where near this. Check out his timelapse clips.

Re: Super Duper for Beaulieu 4008?

I have just bought a Beaulieu 4008 ZMII (have fallen in love with it...is this wrong? :D ) I understand that if I want to shoot widescreen that the 'Super Duper 8' gate modification is not possible on a Beaulieu. So, as far as I know, my only option is to shoot with an awareness of how much of the ...

Re: To short or not to...

Since you are in the UK and your exchange rate gives you the advantage, I would look into perhaps using a lab in the US, such as http://www.cinelab.com. You may still save money despite the distance. Film stock, processing and telecine seems to be more expensive in Europe than here in the USA. In ...

Re: S-8 ECN Labs - E Coast USA?

I've just shot my first couple of Vision 2 200T carts and want to get them processed. Any recommendations for a good lab? East Coast USA preferred - Washington DC area best, but I haven't found any that take Super 8.
