...reaching for the araldite or super glue.

Well if the lomo is some kind of phenolic resin then Araldite should work very well. I've used it to mend broken bits and bobs on vintage bakelite radios and they've held really well over the years. Then again radios mainly sitting in one spot can't ...

Re: Light Meters, advice ?

I'd like it to be really cheap, simple to use yet be able to take both incident and reflected readings.

If you're using Android: Really cheap as in, free. Modes for both incident and reflected, accurate enough (depending on your smartphone) for most situations but I won't use it for really ...

Re: Double Super & Standard 8 Stock in US

There is a project of a new spiral reel film processing equipment for serious work. I stress the word serious because the gear will not be plastic and takes some work space. Its name is Cargo. We are planning to offer three reel sizes, one for 33 feet, one for 100 feet, and one for up to 500 feet ...

Re: Double Super & Standard 8 Stock in US

Doug at Spectra Film and Video has informed me that they are now processing FOMA R8 and DS8 reversal at no additional cost. They also modified reversal processing to accept FOMA. For more details contact Sperctra at 1 818 762 4545.

Thank you for the info, that's very welcome news indeed ...

Alas, it is PPS business oriented. We have several rolls of film still stuck over in Elm St. since what, August?

Indeed. If everything in this world is crunched according to the numbers, it would be a sad, dreary, boring world indeed. Here's to love, passion, and the dreamers. Two thumbs up for Tommy and Lasse.

Ahhh. Thank you. He's been incommunicado for some time, emails unanswered. But his recent posting means he's alright, so all's still well with the world.. 8)

Re: Nikon R8 R10 Eyecups Available New - Sort Of

an eyecup is $25 from Chambless Cine.

I looked high and low but can't find one for $25 from their catalogue online, did they update prices or am I missing something? Would appreciate if you could confirm they're still selling the same black ones as in your nifty video because all I can find ...

Re: Fixing a broken Bauer battery compartment - SUCCESS !

Thanks for sharing, it's always so satisfying when an old camera is brought back to live, and especially more so when everything is restored to all original factory specs.

I am at the moment contemplating disassembling a cosmetically perfect Bolex 7.5 Macrozoom which isn't running, unfortunately it ...

Yes, great news indeed! I do hope their cine formats will be reasonably priced so that we would be enticed to shoot more film, and hopefully bring in a new generation of shooters as well.

Re: New Norwegian Super 8 camera to debut in 2014

It's great to see this one become a reality, kudos to them (I know they're Nordic based, but is it a fact they're Norwegian?). Understandably, the new cam won't have an optical viewfinder but who knows, maybe it will happen too. Maybe if we make lots of noise...

Re: Cap sizes for Schneider Optivaron 6-66 ?

Thank you, Jean.

And thank you sciolist, these are precisely the dimensions I was looking for high and low. Chicken and egg, cart and horse. I had a chance to pick up some new Schneider caps BEFORE my ZMII arrived, so I couldn't really figure out which ones were needed. Much obliged.

Cheers!

Cap sizes for Schneider Optivaron 6-66 ?

Hello,

If you own one of the Beaulieus that has a Schneider 6-66 on it, could you please let me know the sizes for both the original plastic Schneider caps?

What is the size of the cap which fits the lens, and the size for the other cap that fits the 30/2 metal hood?

Much obliged,
Cheers!

Re: Ferrania hope to start film manufacture in 2014

Apparently "new" Ferrania can produce their new films in all formats, including D8, S8, 16 etc. But of course what formats they will produce will be limited to what they perceive "the market" would buy. The still shooters over on Flickr and other groups have already started making lots of noise for ...
