Eumig 610D circuitry
Hi all,
I just found a really nicely preserved Eumig 610D variable speed projector, unfortunately for me it's the European voltage model. There's a solder point where I can easily set the transformer primary between 220/230/240/250 volts but there doesn't appear to be any 110/120v taps.

According to this latest tweet, today there's a working prototype in a case, in a cab, somewhere in Europe...

Re: D I Y processing
I've been wondering about this myself. I recently started doing some 35mm still film processing in rodinal and I've been enjoying it and having pretty good luck.
I'm particularly curious about b&w reversal processing. I wonder if this 'T-MAX REVERSAL KIT' from Photographer's Formulary ( http ...

Re: Niagara Custom Labs has a new website and address!
I'm really curious about the Super 8 scanning service listed on their price card. I wrote them to ask about it and they said they hope to have it up and running by late May.
Maybe they won't challenge the likes of Frame Discreet or Ochoypico in terms of quality and expertise, but if the scans look ...

Re: Low Cost Telecine
Hey thanks for that info. Very interesting. So it'd be roughly 6.4GB for a cart? That's pretty manageable when mailing hard drives.

Re: Low Cost Telecine
Best of luck with your scanning business. Your prices are great.
Just wondering if you've ever had a chance to try an uncompressed scan with your machine? I noticed the "NEW: Now capture compressed or uncompressed!!!" notice posted on the Moviestuff site and I'm really interested to see the quality ...

Re: Logmar S8 footage revealed!
Wow truly amazing. It'll be out of my budget but I really hope my local film co-op acquires one.
It'd be really nice to see a few 2k stills to take Vimeo and Neat Video out of the equation.

Re: Wolverine Super F2D 4-in-1 Film to Digital Converter
That's really interesting. I notice it's on sale for for $80 at Costco in the USA. I had to use a lot of super 8 stills for an album cover project last year (macro lens DSLR photos of film on a light table) and something like this would have saved me a lot of agony. I wonder what the resolution of ...

Re: Finished 1st super 8 video. Looking for advice to improv
Hey sorry I missed your messages folks. Thanks for the great tips and the encouraging words.
I wasn't aware of those 100ASA b&w stocks. Has anyone ever compared them to Tri-X? Curious how they perform in terms of grain and contrast.
Since that message, my girlfriend and I made a couple more super ...

Re: Finished 1st super 8 video. Looking for advice to improv
Thanks folks.
I definitely can see what you mean about the 'ghostly' quality about the Tri-X grain Carl. Just as a viewer I've always liked grainy stuff in 35mm feature movies as well, like Tom DiCillo's camerawork in Stranger Than Paradise. Like tape hiss, I think it's definitely sometimes your ...

Hey, thanks for the feedback and the great info Will.
We intended to do in-camera lap dissolves but we misread the manual--only the bigger 1014 XL-S has that feature. So we tried to simulate it Premiere just by layering.
Since this vid, we were given an old Canon AutoZoom 814 (non-electronic) and ...

Finished 1st super 8 video. Looking for advice to improve
Hi folks,
My band and I recently finished our first ultra-low-budget super 8 music video. We really enjoyed the experience and would like to keep working on more. We certainly made our fair share of rookie mistakes (too many to enumerate!) and really made a lot use of this forum's archives to try to ...

Re: New Retro 8 sample clip
Thanks, that's good to know. The reason I was asking is because it'll probably remain out of my budget for quite some time, but I was hoping to convince my local film co-op to at least think about getting one. If it required a lot of space and was fussy about ambient light, it'd be a tough sell.

Re: New Retro 8 sample clip
Great to know. Can't wait to see the results of that negative footage. One other thing I was wondering, does it require total darkness to operate?
