A new play honoring the death of analog film
Hey everyone, I'm trying to raise awareness and gain support for my new project, a multimedia live performance called "Memorial Service to Follow." It's something I think you all would find interesting. It's about a filmmaker, who while saying goodbye to his art form, realizes he's still mourning ...

So you're saying you can't adjust the exposure on the camera?
If that's the case, I would do what other's have said, break out the ND filters. Since Tri-X is a reversal film, it's better to under-expose than over expose. If you over expose your film, you're going to loose detail in your highlights ...

Reducing Contrast in Optical Printing
I've been doing a lot of optical printing lately on a J.K. Optical Printer and an Oxberry printer. However, I've noticed that my prints are coming back extremely contrasty. I'm not currently printing with any contrast filters, just white light and ND filters to knock down the exposure. I've been ...

Re: Need advice for ultra short throw 16mm projection
Thanks for your help! I'm happy to hear that it's possible. When adding a wide angle adapter to the lens of a 16mm projector, are there any types of lenses that will be compatible "out of the box" or adapters? Or am I going to have to come up with my own rigging to make it work?

Need advice for ultra short throw 16mm projection
I'm a film student at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago and I'm getting ready to put on a performance with live 16mm projections. For the piece I would ideally like to place the projector about 8-10 feet away from an 8x8 foot screen. I know this is an extremely short throw for 16mm, but I'm ...
