I'm not too familiar with UP8, but we shot approx 18,000 feet of Super8 and scanned to HD and enlarged to 16:9. We've been very happy with the look and the HD holds up very well in theatrical exhibition. We originally were going to shoot in digital but chose Super 8mm after seeing The National's ...

Agreed. Our Color Grader in Seattle Eric Rosen of Lightpress did our Super 8mm scans as well as DaVinci color grading. I highly recommend him.
