Processing :

These are the FAQs from Kodak when the new process was introduced:
http://web.archive.org/web/20061113144459/http://www.kodak.com/US/en/motion/16mm/features/newBWFilmsQA.jhtml

In short, Plus-X 7276 should be rated as 100ASA for the current process as you said.

Re: Wittner Chrome 200D exposed question

I'm sure you've figured it out now, but if anyone else is wondering:

I think that all the Wittner branded film currently has the standard end punching, but
doesn't have the word "EXPOSED" printed over it. I'm not entirely sure, but I think
it's just the film that Wittner packages for others that is ...

Re: Kodak Vision3 50D in Nizo Professional. Notching?

There is a difference between the bulb and sun position with a daylight cartridge inserted on a Nizo - I have tested it.
I don't think this is how it usually works though. The 1014 XLS doesn't change with a daylight cartridge inserted.

This is why I asked before if it would be 64 on bulb and 40 on ...

Re: Kodak Vision3 50D in Nizo Professional. Notching?

Maurizio I think you are right that it would be 64ASA in bulb. I thought
that this couldn't be possible, because then daylight film would need be switched to sun
and it would have the filter in the way causing the wrong colour balance. But you are
right because I forgot that the filter pin ...

Re: Kodak Vision3 50D in Nizo Professional. Notching?

Like Maurizio said the Professional has a slide instead of pins so it rates all speeds between the fastest and the slowest.
For the Pro like the 481 this is everything between 16/10 ASA and 160/100 ASA. So it would be read correctly if the
cartridge was notched like Jamie suggests it is.

You are ...

Re: Kodak Vision3 50D in Nizo Professional. Notching?

Hey again Andreas,

Sorry for the mis-info. What I read was actually talking about pro8's 50D. Apparently theirs is notched
the same as 40 / 25 ASA. Thanks Jamie to you Jamie for the clarification.

The Nizo Pro reads everything up 160 / 100 ASA I believe so your camera should have read it as 40 if ...

Re: Velvia 50 Super 8 Notch Size Question

This is why it is so confusing as all the footage I've seen looks fine, nothing like 1 stop overexposure.
Everywhere says to put the cartridge straight in and shoot so I think this is what everybody does when using the film.

I just compared the light reading on a K40 cartridge with the filter in ...

Re: Kodak Vision3 50D in Nizo Professional. Notching?

Hey Adnreas,

I wanted to comment because I started a thread about the V50D and why it has the notch size it does.
I haven't used the Kodak 50D yet but according the the internet the notch size the same as the Velvia 50D
and I assume that like the Velvia it doesn't have a filter notch either. So ...

Re: Velvia 50 Super 8 Notch Size Question

Hey Richard,

Thanks for confirming my thoughts.
What I want to know though is why V50D is notched like this.
I have looked at both Wittner and Cinevia cartridges and they are both notched for 40T / 25D -
there must be a reason why all the companies have done this.

Is the Spectra cartridge the ...

*Yes the speed is equivalent to 25 when using 40T with the filter engaged but I am not talking about that.

I was trying to say that In the last post that I am not talking about the 85 filter speed, but the
speed I think this is rated at natively.

Re: Velvia 50 Super 8 Notch Size Question

Hey Jamie,

I really, really appreciate the reply.

I don't think I explained myself properly because you misunderstood me.

I know that daylight doesn't need a filter notch, but what I was asking is
that with that speed notch size -- ie the same as 40T -- V50D should have a filter
notch to be read ...

Velvia 50 Super 8 Notch Size Question

I already posted this question in the forum, but got no reply so I'm reposting because I'm still stumped.

I just opened a cartridge of V50D and I am a bit confused as to why its speed notch is the size it is.
This film is daylight stock so naturally the cartridge has no filter notch. As it has no ...

Re: New Wittner Stock

Well those prices are better than even Wittner are selling them for.
Unfortunately high prices are something we have to get used to when it comes to shooting super 8 colour reversal.
