Does this mean no B&W 16mm film at all from Kodak? Plus-x has been gone awhile and I assumed Tri-X would stick around longer. I'm guessing this "restructuring" is truly the end for them.

The easy answer is buy/borrow a reliable external light meter and use it exclusively.

If it's real quiet that might be a good thing but most likely it needs lubed. They will be louder with film in them but not terribly.

You'll see they suggest lubing it every three years. I doubt if it's EVER been lubed and now it's 50 years ...

I think you've hit the nail on the head with the original post. It's quite confusing with codecs, compression and so on. If only people cared as much about story/script as they do image quality we'd be better off.

I can only assume that anytime now there will be a complete collapse in the digital imaging market. I can't imagine the market can maintain this many manufacturers doing this much R&D and trying to undercut each other on price for much longer.
