Re: Good to be back!
Well, I'll be checking this forum again. I hope others use it. I've really come to dislike the dominant aspects of Facebook and I appreaciate Andres trying to keep this going if only as an archive of information.

Nizo "app"
I generally hate it when people post about digital "versions" of film, which totally miss the point, so please consider this just a public service in case your friends ask.
Similar to the "digital bolex" of a few years ago (now folded) but at $5 US instead of 4000, here is the "Nizo App" for the ...

$20 scanning from FFP
This just came over the transom. $20 scans per 50 ft roll using (what looks like) the Lasergraphics Scan Station.
Discounts for more than 5 rolls. Thoughts??

Re: What have you been working on lately?
I got a grant from the Interbay Film Society here in Seattle that covered my film scan by Lightpress, so I shot a super 8 short over the winter.

Re: Kodak awakens, new S8 camera announced at CES '16
I still think the larger issue with audio is going to be camera noise. The motor is going to have to be very very quiet to be spinning a super 8 cart, unless there's something about the new design that's better insulated than it appears.
However, I am totally rooting for its success!

Re: Can I shoot 500 T with my autoexposure-only camera?
Hi Richard - interesting! And handy, because I'm shooting mostly at night. Any guidelines for a sunny/daytime shooting with this camera? It's a Eumig 125 XL S. Super 8 wikia claims it has a manual exposure option but I sure don't see one.
thanks!!

Can I shoot 500 T with my autoexposure-only camera?
Hi folks, rewording a previous question -- I've got a camera that does not have manual exposure. How will it respond to 500 T? I've previously only used TriX with it, no problems of course.
thanks much!!

Eumig 125XL vs. Kodak T500
Hi folks -- I'm working on a nighttime project next month and hoping to use my snazzy Eumig 125XL because of its very fast lens.
I've previously only shot reversal outdoors in the daytime with the camera, this'll be my first time trying the T500 on super 8 at night in dark conditions.

Re: New Kodak Super8 camera test
Glad to see it in progress, even though yes yes, it was a poorly thought out marketing attempt. They were probably trying to seem casual and mysterious.
I want to see some sound tests, though. Something like Pro8 put up for the Logmar a while back - I can't find it anymore but it was a static shot ...

Re: New Kodak Super 8 Camera Preview
The sound of the wind as nothing actually moves. Although the car could be running :) Easy to sync.
Yeah, I was hoping for something like Pro8 put up a while back - I can't find it anymore but it was a static shot of a girl talking, shot in color but desaturated to be in b/w. It was fairly lovely ...

I wonder if they'll do a two-pop! Generate a dot on the film and a beep when the audio starts. That'd be cool.
I'm still wondering how they're going to account for the camera noise vs. audio. Maybe I'm just ...

Re: Wolverine 8mm and Super 8 Movie Reels to Digital MovieMa
Well this is interesting. Wolverine's youtube page now contains a link to this dropbox "sample", which you can actually simply watch (don't need to download) here:

Re: Kodak awakens, new S8 camera announced at CES '16
Richard PT, if there is a petition to include small labs in the Kodak family of processors, I'd be delighted to sign it and do what I can to help promote it, and I'm sure I'm not the only one. Stubborn little labs have been crucial in keeping film alive. Kodak should know that, if they're not too ...
