Re: Good to be back!
I prefer forums as well. However, I think it doesn't help that the main site is still saying that the site is under construction, even if the forum is accessible with the link below

Re: Replacing foam in camera bag?
If it is on that stage, I'd remove it. Depending on how it is glued, I'd either just rip it out or cut it out. If it can't be done without damaging the bag, lining it with some fabric might work. :)

Re: Ethical Question: Corona
Well, perhaps the bw to color transition might have been seen by some to belittle the suffering of people. But documenting this crisis? Nothing unethical there, I think. If we didn't have film from the eras of wars and suffering, how much poorer our memory would be...

Re: The State of Double Super 8
It's a shame that 100ft load DS8 cameras are so rare (if not counting Quarz cameras). Prices tend to climb on the few available.
I wonder if labs would be happy to process ds8 color negative as 16mm with same prices. Should make sense, at least if using 100ft loads. Using DS8 would be rather ...

Long term storage of processed film
Now that my collection of home movies (from the past decade) has grown considerably, consisting of both camera originals (negative and reversal film) and polyester prints from the negative, I'd like to take good care of my home movies.
Currently a big portion of it all is in the original metal ...

Is it intentional that currently it isn't possible to enter the forum through the main page (www.filmshooting.com)? I see only a login prompt and the information that the site is being rebuilt.

Re: Super 8 Film Lab Suggestions
In Australia/NZ try NANO Lab. Not certain ANDEC in Berlin still processes S8. They may contract out Reversal Lab in NL. There is also a lab in France.
Andec does still process S8, but only BW (neg and reversal) and color negative (ECN-2) but no color reversal (E-6). We'll see if this changes ...

At least Martin Baumgarten is active on Cinematography.com.
Ahh, the nostalgia. How many afternoons in the high school some 12 years ago did I spend just reading these forums and cinematography.com...
