Re: Single frame issues with E100D and 814XLS
I picked up a Nizo 4056 in November. I tried two carts of 100D. They both jammed. Perhaps it is the camera, but the spindle of the cartridge sure seems stiff, even when a loop of film is pulled out by hand and I attempt to reel it in with the spindle. The claw and take-up spindle of the camera seems ...

Re: Kodachrome: 1935-2010
I have transferred film for over 25 years, and have done hundreds of thousands of feet of Reg 8, Super 8, and 16mm. Kodachrome is awesome. My favorite version was the original (before Kodachrome II). It was very slow (Daylight ASA 10) and very contrasty, but if you nailed the exposure, the results ...

Re: How to fix perf damage?
Another thing you can do is run the film in reverse, and then reverse the frames in your NLE when you are finished. I have done this many times. Since torn perforations are usually torn in a downward direction, if you run the film backwards, the claw will be pulling up against the good side of the ...

Re: Ektachrome 100D jamming in Nizo 4056
I am wondering again about the cartridge. When I pull out a loop of film from the cartridge opening and turn the spindle to take it up, it is very stiff and the tension required seems to vary. I guess I need to get some more film and try again. Too bad the stuff costs so much these days.

Ektachrome 100D jamming in Nizo 4056
Hello. I picked up a Nizo 4056 which I got from Germany on eBay. The take-up spindle seems to have decent torque and the pulldown claw seems strong. However, when I tried the camera this weekend, it would run a couple seconds then jam. I took out the cartridge, gave it a couple taps, reinserted it ...
