Mercury cell did decline their voltage towards the of life too.
If the regulator is controlled by zeners or a voltage regulator IC it will be more stable then whatever battery available, then and now.
That is what I posted then on that thread too :) It is still true.

Re: nizo camera help needed
there are several posts discouraging people from converting the
light meter to the main pack. i forgot exactly why, but there's a reason for that.
i might be taking my camera to a shop that sells other Nizos and have him take a look and get some advice
If it is built with a adaptive regulator ...

Re: nizo camera help needed
Hi, it is possible to get your camera repaired and it is possible to get the light meter converted to run from the main power pack.
There could be any number of problems with the light meter, some are an easy fix or it could be you need a new one. If its the latter then, really you would be better ...

Re: nizo camera help needed
Its always a gamble with Ebay. My good friend decided to enter the S8 world and purchased a minty 801 Macro on ebay for $400. When it came, everything worked fine untill we put film in it and the motor struggled really bad. He ended up sending it to Du-All camera for repair... $300. So in the end ...

Re: nizo camera help needed
Silly question #1:
Have you taken the plastic tabs off the batteries?
Silly question #2:
Once you've done #1, have you left them for 1/2 hour to let the reaction with air start to take place, preferably before putting them in the camera?
Silly point #1:
If it is up the spout, why not look for ...

Re: nizo camera help needed
You just said it. Buying super8 equipment from eBay sellers at bargain prices often results in receiving equipment with one malfunction or another. It will obviously need servicing. Sounds like your exposure meter is jammed or otherwise defective. Whether it's worth it to spend the money, you must ...

nizo camera help needed
I've got a Nizo 561macro.motor ok,controls work, dial in aperture meter wasn't showing, but i thought replacing the light meter batteries w 2 Weincell mrb675 (1.35v), with proper centering and connection) would solve that. It didn't. there's still no dial showing in aperture scale, no matter what i ...

(Nizo 561macro)
All shot outdoors using the Tungsten filter ( per Kodak instructions). I used auto TTL only to check what f/stop to use then I switched to manual and underexposed slightly and made my shots. No other filters used on the Nizo.

Re: 100D Test Roll Comments
oops--- I did have a UV filter but I don't consider it a factor.
the auto will take uv or nd filter into consideration. Then you make adjustments going manual. The jury is still out on over- or underexposure ,daylight or tungsten. One poster said: 'filter will be disabled, no matter what'. The ...

Re: nizo 561macro and ektachrome 100d
here's what i got so far:
With the Nizo 801, the filter is going to be disabled no matter what by the way the cartridge is set up. And you need to set your filter switch to the sun symbol to expose 100D at 100ASA. If you leave the filter switch on the bulb setting, the camera will read it as 160ASA ...

great you have the same camera. any advice on the aperture setup required with ektachrome 100d? (auto-manual, daylight-tungsten ,general adjustments
etc.)

seperate section for cameras/hardware
i've been trying to find specific info about a camera and i have subscribed to super8camera.com with questions. It's a very new forum. This forum here is about filming, not about cameras per se. what about a special section about cameras/ technical hardware? I can see more camera questions in the ...

Re: nd filter question
Yes, it is very helpful.thanks.when talking about the Nizo camera online i noticed people preferred to put either an nd3 or nd6 filter on the front, to reduce the automatic light reading of the camera concerning iso measuring. According to you that would be -1.5 f and -2.? am i correct?
Partly ...
