My first real 16mm tests

I recently got back a video transfer of my first real 16mm tests with my Keystone A-12 Criterion Deluxe. I say real tests because I shot a 50' roll before with a 16mm cartridge camera but that was a total joke.

I shot focus tests, framing tests, etc.
I really only did one shot 'just for fun' at the ...

A friend of mine paid for a $220 auction last year with PayPal and got stiffed by the seller. He contacted PayPal since they (and eBay) say that payments are insured against fraud.

Long story short, he never got his money back.

Then he found PayPalSucks.com

Now, knowing what I know, I only pay ...

Kodak sold exclusive rights to the 50' 16mm cartridges to a company called Alan Gordon Enterprises in Hollywood. They are the only company that still makes fresh cartridges.

Go here for more info.

If you buy from them it's really, really expensive. I bought a few from a guy off eBay last ...

VERY simple question

Simple question, just curious.

Which side of the unexposed film is the emulsion on?
The dull side or the shiny side?

I did a little test and want to make sure I put the correct side of the film facing out.

Thanks in advance for the simple answer.

The film was such a let-down. The trailer played as if someone is watching him, filming him for some kind of twisted home movie. But that was nothing like the actual plot.

I can't get going on this, I'll get too frazzled.

how to fix/clean 'frozen' lenses?

I have a lens for my Keystone A-12 (16mm) that is stuck at it's present settings. I have worked it a little to release the iris a bit, but the focus is locked. Any ideas on how to get it loose?

Thanks,

Patrick,

Is this the type of timer your are talking about?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... gory=29971

I'm looking for a timer that will repeat at a specific frame rate (ex: 1 fps, .5 fps, etc)

REALLY!?!

Where did you see these? Are they standard cable release timers? Do you have a picture of it?

I'm very interested in this. I really thought I was stuck pushing the button every second.

I, too, would like to shoot time lapse. My Yashica 600 Electro uses a cable release socket. I have seen intervalometers before but they are around $300-400. I keep thinking there must be a cheaper way to make something that would automatically trigger for less.

Any ideas?

I finally broke down and ordered an original manual from craigcamera.com. The A-12 shutter is 160 degrees.

Thanks for the help, and the great site:)

Light metering with Weston Master III (model 737)

I've got a Weston Master III (model 737) that (I'm told) uses ASA settings. I'm just trying to figure out how to use it with my film cameras (Yashica 600 Electro super-8, Keystone A-12 16mm). I know how to use the meter but don't have my shutter angle. I don't know the calculation to figure out the ...

I actually bought mine for my video camera. I haven't tried it with my film cameras yet but plan to at some point.

The focus is going to be shortened to the distance of the Wide Angle lens itself. So if the WA is screwed in 1 inch from the camera lens, the focus will be 1 inch. The problem that ...

A Solution...

disjecta,

I had the same problem with a lens like this and finally figured out the solution after much frustration. If you unscrew the macro attachment there should be a sopt on the inside of the ring with a very small notch. Use something small (paperclip, etc.) to unscrew the fitting. This is a ...
