Greetings,
There is a small switch on the back of the handle opposite of the trigger. This switch must be pushed in to activate the motor. There is a smaller switch under the main one that will lock the main switch "on". If that's not it, then there is a problem with the camera.
Regards,
Al

scoopic
Greetings,
For future reference: I used a non-reflex bolex several times and it was a nightmare. The problem with removable lenses is that they have to be screwed on perfectly; not tight enough, or to tight, and this will effect the final image quality. This is the exact reason I bought my scoopic ...

Greetings,
I too own a Canon Scoopic, and it is superb: small, steady, self loading, great big beautiful hunk of Japanese glass (72mm filter), it feels like a big super 8 camera. I believe this is the most underated 16mm camera. The pictures it takes are first rate. I also picked up a Bell & Howell ...

Lost Tribes
Greetings,
I purchased a copy of Lost Tribes, and I have watched it a few times. Since the creative aspect of any movie is subjective, I will only comment on the technical aspects. These are my honest observations:
Most of the interior scenes look like low grade home video: very grainy(looks more ...

SWISS CHEESE
Greetings,
I am currently making a feature length super 8 movie completely by myself. From start to finish, the only person involved will be me. I am playing 16 characters and various other voices. I sent the screenplay to a woman at Kodak, and after a few discussions about the technical aspects ...

The great SUPER 8.
Bummer. This site turned me on to super 8. I bought a camera and projector on the cheap, and when I saw the first movie on my wall, I was hooked. Thanks.
I'll keep my fingers crossed.
Regards,
Al

Wal-Mart processing, Irvine
I was told by Wal-mart, Irvine, that processing is $.08 ft. for super 8 and 16mm with a 250 ft. minimum. What a deal, especially on the 16mm. The woman that helped me looked it up, and she was positive of the price. She said Fuji does the processing, and she gave me a number at Fuji to call if I had ...
