yeah they show up on Ebay fairly regularly. They should be priced around £10-£40.
Basically as you said it's a box with a fold out semi-transparent screen and a mirror which you tilt at an angle. You project your movie onto the mirror and film off the screen with you camcorder.

Kodachrome quick processing
Hey guys.
I'm in the final leg of my first Super8 short and I have to have completed by september 1st for a film festival. I'm already waiting for films to come back form Kodak so I can telecine them.
I've one more scene to shoot. Is there any way of getting a fast processing direct from Kodak off ...

Losing the will
I absolutely adore super8, well film actually. I had some problems with super8 first, but since I bought a decent camera I've been thrilled with my results.
However, I need to digitise my work and I can't afford a preofessional transfer so my results look awful.

Yeah I know that, I just find it very refreshing that Super8 seems to be fast becoming the number one choice of indie film-makers.
I know lots of people in the media industry (believe it or not) who don't even know of the existance of Super8. And don't seem to understand the difference between film ...

Dunno if you guys ever visit triggerstreet? Cool idea (though very commercial!) Anyways I've been visiting it now for well over a year and when I started logging on it was almost exclusively DV shorts, with the odd 16mm or 35mm one.

I'm still convinced it can be done. Though I haven't seen good results- yet!
I think Kodachrome only has an exposure latitude of about 3 or 4, so whatever is most important in your frame - light it very well then prepare for the rest of your shoot to sink into darkness.

Jessops telecine service
I rang up today to get the details. They transfer Super8 at £4.70 per 50ft, and there's a £18 minimum charge. This sounds good - thing is the wont transfer it to MiniDV, they only do it to VHS.
Now I can transfer it on to miniDV myself but, it'll look crap coming from a VHS.

I live in Ireland, can anyone tell me where I can buy this film stock?
I am really excited about using a Super8 colour film with a decent exposure latitude.
Escrubia, you're from Irealnd aren't you - any ideas?

What's been the best example of Super 8
It's use in big movies, or on national television.
It just seems to me that whenever I see super8 used by professionals they're not getting the best out of it. It's only used when they want a dirty, grungy look.
