just wanted to add a field report on the subject.

i have pata 2disc raid0 for 5 years running and they still do the job up to 6fps with cinecap.

then i have a 2disc raid 0 with sata drives about 4 years old. i never used theese for transfers with cinecap only for video-editing but i tested them ...

The next issue is whether CineCap would see a HD capture device like the $249 Blackmagic Intensity card:

the BlackMagic Studio Card works perfectly with 720P and Dodcap.

I believe if one were to set up a RAID array, then you could capture HD with your workprinter at a much higher fps rate.

mattias, i like the grabs a lot! very moody and realistic look, it gives me the feeling of a band playing in a small smokie club. i specially like the shot from beyond with the back-kicker making its way through the smoke between the mike and the singer, that one must look awsome when it moves so ...

On my projector, I obviously removed the 3 bladed shutter, but then I made a new one out of tin plate that just had a small blade that aligned with the trailing edge of the original pulldown blade...hope that made sense! At a convenient place inside the projector, I mounted a slotted optical switch ...

i'll post some stills and clips in the "new standard" thread tomorrow.

im looking forward on those.

can i critique the lighting though?

yes sure i like you to. i wanted to create a kind of heroic look, im gonna try to set the kickers so there is even more light falling on the face, plus i'll ...

Hello Frank

I think did not get the wiring stuff, i have to get back to you when im ready to try that.

May I ask at what speed is your projector nominally running at? Out of interest, is this a telecine machine you have built yourself?

yes i built it myself based on the workprinter basics. it ...

Very sorry it didn't work for you
no problemo, the delay feature would be a big help for me. but since not too many seem to be interested, i wonder if you should really put in more time in solving this. but im happy if you do :) .

How did you wire it up in the end...I assume you are not trying ...

thanks for your opinions

At f2.8, how much light, just in watts and distance from subject, did you use?

i only cared about the subject, i put a pinza 500w with yellow gel in the back to see how the light falls off on the background. there were 2 red-heads(800w) at full power as back-kickers ...

Hello Frank, i hope you found the tools :)

Tested the new version. There are doubled frames and framedrops at free will in the capture, theres no pattern to it. i have tested different Bounce-dealays the faster times seem to work better. The fps display is not steady, it always searches, but it ...
