Where does the K-40 that Walmart handles get processed? That's a two week turnaround.

Thanks.

Re: Newbie to Super 8 and forum

Hello!
I was recommended to this site awhile back, but am only now just joing. :)

I have a Kodak XL55 super 8 camera. It was a great find at a yard sale. The only problem is that it came with no manual. I can figure out the basics, but I'd love a manual. Does any one know where I can get a copy ...

Mathis- very nice transfer. The bit of strobing while watching it on the computer monitor isn't too bothersome, but on TV it might be.

Is there any particular reason you went to DV before going to the computer? What do you see as the advantage of doing it that way in lieu of omitting the Hi8 tape ...

Re: MD Recorder Suggestions

Anyone have any suggestions as to what MD recorders are good for recording sync sound? I was thinking about an R37 but if anyone has a better suggestion?

I have the R37 and am very happy with it. For the price, I believe you will be too. I still prefer analogue, but a good system is a lot more ...

Ooops! Sorry I said 15m or 50'. I was thinking of Super 8. As I posted, I hadn't been awake that long. My bad.

Without giving this a great deal of thought, do a little math. The formula for determining the area of a circle is pi(r squared). Calculate the size of the spool in a reel that holds 15m or 50'. Subtract it from the area of the entire spool (reel), which will give you the area of the reel that ...

Most moving car scenes with CUs of actors exchanging dialogue are done in front of a green screen with the background inserted in post.

If that's not an option, light the car, then insulate and wire it for sound. Put it on a small trailer and tow it with an SUV or pickup truck with the camera in ...

I really enjoyed it. The only area I may have worked at a bit more is the sync sound. Cool Edit Pro (now Adobe Audition) is still out there and the sound issue could've been addressed. Other than that, everything about it was very well done.

There was a CP-16R on ebay a day or two ago, starting at $895US. I could be mistaken, but I believe there was another that was a buy-it-now for $1300. I can't recall the details or condition of either cam, but you should check them out. They're quiet as a mouse (at least mine is), crystal synched ...

Try this formula:

1 / ((fps x 360) / shutter angle)

Using 24fps and a shutter angle of 180 degrees it works out as follows

1 / ((24 x 360) / 180) = 1/48sec shutter speed.

I bought an L-398 on ebay a couple of years ago and it's been very reliable. I believe I paid around $100US for it, then. I don't know what they're going for now, but probably less than that.

Not unless your camera motor doesn't drift at all- which would be rare.
would it really? the variable arri s's i've used stayed on the same speed for hours, and my canon 814e, while not variable, stays the same year after year. and exact enough so i can shoot sync with it and just batch change all ...
