I bought a Super16 ACL of Ebay this summer. It needed a little work so it went to a repair shop. They suggested while they it open, I put in an offical Super16 ground glass (it had a homemade ground glass.) I said ok, but then it took over 5 months to get the ground glass because the only company ...

I've had two direct experiences with Pro8 which both good. I shot a commercial and dream sequences for a Super-16 feature and both turned out as good as I expected. (There were some camera issues which screwed some of the footage, but that isn't Pro8 problem.)

On the commercial, we just sent the ...

[quote=sophocle]Then why have it at all? Why government retirement is then "good" and "necessary" for some people and not for others? Are we smarter, harder-working and better-looking than "the people that need SS"?

I think not. This type of elitism inherent in amercan liberal "thinking" drives me ...

I think Anarcho-capitalism would result in a much freer and more efficient society than a governed one.

This is the utopian dream of free marketers. Let's turn our lives over to the corporations because they can do the job so much better and cheaper than the government. What you'll end up is ...

Hmmmm, we've been here before.

In my opinion, Walmart is approaching evil statis. Why would I say something so outrageous? I feel that any entity that views their one and only function is to make money at all cost, then they are evil. I see Walmart this way. They don't care how it happens as long ...

Roger,

A fair question.

I would guess that they got their health care paid for by the state, but wouldn't it be nice if Walmart paid their workers enough money to afford health care like many other companies. State jobs do this and so do many other companies.

Here's a fun fact about Walmart, because they pay their workers such low wages those employees use approx. $1.8 billion in public funded health services. That's basically a subsidy for Walmart. Heck, yeah, pay those workers as little as you can get away with so you can pocket as much profits as ...

Yes, I do own a Super-8 Camera. A Bauer S105-XL. I apologize for not putting it on my website. I'll have to fix that on my site.

I'm a big fan of Super-8. I shot some on the last feature I shot and a commerical a few years back on Super-8 Neg.

New Indie Film Tech Tip: Lighting Units

I just posted my newest Indie Film Tech Tip. This new installment is called Lighting Units and lays out the basics of lights you may be using. It's an overview and doesn't cover every light out there, but talks about open face lights, fresnals, power useage, etc... It runs just under 4 min. and is ...

I thought it looked great. And Santo is was Super16, not super 35.

I did see a few dirt specs, so maybe they should clean it a little better in transfer.

I've bought a few things through Visual Products and most of it worked out well. I did buy an Arri 16mm BL which had some noise problems. They were great and let me take two Elcair NPR cameras for a shoot and pick the best one as a replacement. I grew to love that NPR. I've moved up to an SR.

Hey folks,

I've just added a new Indie Film Tech Tip to my site. It has info on Gels & Diffusion. Also, I've broken Grip Kit Goodies into two clips so they are a little smaller. All the tips are 3:22 or under and are Windows Media Files.

I made these to help beginning filmmakers understand the ...
