I got back to the unit and finally adjusted it properly. Here is what I did.

The wheel was turned about 180 degrees this time. It worked perfectly in the first test.

Anyone have any tips for adjusting the timing cam? I am getting some vertical streaks on some newly acquired reels but can't work out how to get the timing adjusted (I'm not very mechanically minded!).

I think I've found the adjustment 'hole' but I don't know which is the 'set screw' referred to ...

Going to tackle the Raid install tomorrow. Anyone know a good (or even average) online howto on Raid-0?

Critical adjustment of the cam will eliminate all of the vertical smear that you're seeing now.

Ok, practice makes perfect on the alignment and RTFMing got the focus correct - I hadn't adjusted the projector focus, funny how that made a difference.
