Howdy!
Yep, I used a Hervice splicer & tapes on my first cut, because they only cover one frame on each side of the cut, and yes, they wrap around to both sides.
The Kodak presstapes are REALLY obvious; four frames full of dust & hair bits flying by the gate... YECHHH!
On my re-edit (on the computer ...

The Canon 1014XL-S or 814 are about 70%-80% as load as the MOS 16mm cameras listed.
They are NOT quiet, and they are not sync-sound either.

If you really are only going to spend under $1K, I'd suggest a Canon Scoopic M or MS.
Not quiet, but the same price as a 1014XL-S, and your footage will look ...

Just to clarify a few things:

1. Roger, sorry about your loss. I had no idea. I did hear a guy on the radio talking about why can we get aid to Asia in 3 days, but he can't even get his SBA loan from the hurricane disaster relief processed in 2+ months?

This is a horrible disaster, but I am at a ...

I have both a Scoopic M, and a CP-16 R/A.
None of the Scoopics shoot 400 foot loads, except the MS, and even that doesn't do it without the mag adapter and a CP 400 mag.

Anyway, I'm extremely happy with the CP-16 R/A.
Quiet, sync, great camera.
You can get into a package for probably around $1,500 ...

This situation is what it is.
It has nothing to do with nuclear weapons, it has nothing to do with anything.

These comments are a weak attempt to:

1. Make some sense or "message" or "purpose" of what is a random, natural event that is just part of the way nature works, and unfortunately, people ...

I see their ads all the time on ebay.
I don't think they're scammers, it's just that their prices are so freakin' high, that nobody bids.
Look at all the stuff.
Not one single bid.
I mean, $1,999 for an original Canon Scoopic?????

I got my Scoopic M, which is much better, for $331.
I'm surprised ...

rollemfilm, I'm interested in possibly getting a barney from these guys you listed for my Canon Scoopic M.
What errors do you refer to?
Also, do you have a picture of your barney you can post here or email to me?
And how much did it cost?

Thanks!

Roger, you're really missing the point here.
Yeah, I have the guy's name & address, just like I have YOUR name and address, but that's doesn't mean didly to the cops!

Yeah, PayPal told me he paid them with a fraudulent check, but wouldn't tell me the date that the check was issued to them, or even ...

The thing about this is, we all have this false sense of security, based on creative advertising of companies like ebay & PayPal, and the fact that not a day goes by that we don't hear some politician or top law enforcement official proclaiming on TV how they've passed all this "tough, anti-crime ...

“Then that means you knew the buyer's verified address and where to send the police when you filed charges for theft.

(MP): Wrong, Roger.
You don’t get at all what my beef with them is.
This is my biggest complaint, that PayPal would not give me any information to prosecute ...

downix, forget about it.
Lots of time and money have been wasted coming up with ways to use a flatbed scanner for scanning film.
Bad idea!
If video res. is OK, contact MovieStuff and get a Workprinter.

Good idea!
Actually, I might "shame them" into cancelling my ebay account!
I'm sure they don't want any bad advertising about PayPal to show up on ebay.

I've used Sunset Post in Glendale, CA and I loved them.
Fantastic place, they do top, top big budget movies there, yet they don't act pompous and condescending like Super 8 Sound (Pro8mm) does, and you always get great service and quality there.

Roger, I believe that guy, because everything he says mirrors exactly what happened to me, to the "T", so what he's saying sounds pretty much 100% credible.
If I told someone I'd seen naked pictures of their wife, they might laugh it off, but if I started telling them where her birthmarks or tattoo ...
