Adobe Photoshop does basically the same by setting Auto Levels or use expert settings for those who are capable.

Here is one sample I did on a sverely faded photo.
Just scanned it and used auto levels to referesh it.

The differences on the prints are way more appearant than on these samples.

It ...

Re: Anyone know a good on line tutorial on colour correction

I've just started getting into this with okay results - but thought a tutorial or info would be useful - anyone know a good site?

Best advice I can give is to make sure you scrape all the emulsion off. The amount of cement is easy to get the hang of, you just need some scrap film to practice on first before you go cutting into important footage. I use Kodak cement, works perfect. Manual is below 8) (pardon the finger :wink ...

Re: Photo prints from frames

I just won a B+W photo enlarger on ebay. I'm thinking about making prints from some of the better frames of my 16mm negative and possibly super 8 positive films. Anyone ever try this, and how did it turn out?

Cheers, Simon.

I bought one of those 1945 Revere 8mm/16mm enlargers in hopes of finding ...

Do any Kodak people lurk here?

This seems to be a board of remarkable vitality. You would think that some of of the information contained would be valuable to them as they "place their bets" for survival.

Practical size limit for single frame 8mm enlargementprints?

How far can you go while preserving sharpness? This is *not* a theoretical question, I'm really hoping to hear from those who have actually done the deed....

Optical printing - best references?

I'm interested in this subject and would appreciate some filtering from the pros. Of all the available sources - which are the ones most worth reading?

Once I line up the top 5 texts, I plan to go sit on the librarian until she digs them up via interlibrary loan :)

None of the slower Ektachrome stocks, when they existed, looked anywhere near as good as Kodachrome. There used to be an ektachrome 40 which didn't look particularly good.

Kodachrome's secret is in it's unique construction and processing, no E6 type film can ever look like it.

QUite why anybody ...

Re: Had an idea about a new scanner

I've been long thinking about a new form of WorkPrinter that would be a sort of table top model capable of handling only the 50 foot reels. It wouldn't be fast but it would have a small camera built in that imaged directly off the film. Now, while cheap color cameras don't have terrific color or ...

Enhancements for all metal 8mm projectors?

I have accumulated a small supply of Bolex M8 and Revere 85 projectors and would like to learn of any enhancements available for them (better lamps, shutter blades, single frame projection, etc). I'm also quite interested in their potential for routine telecine use.

Thanks!

Revere camera repair parts?

I'm an Ebay victim. Two truly pristine cameras destroyed by lack of bubble pack (sigh). Selling Bozo is useless.

I need a turrent disk for a model 84 and a new viewfinder for a model 88. These cameras go into service if I can locate a parts source :)

Re: Future of film. Still vs Motion

Hi all

I have had the good fortune to recently purchase a canon eos 1ds still camera. I also have a lifes worth of slide and negatives that I have been converting using my nikon ed IV (4000dpi) scanner.

I have come to the following conclusions.

In the still image side of image capture there is ...

Re: Kodak Woes - Silver Lining?

There is a bit in the newspaper this morning about Kodak. First cut in dividend in a ling time and a big change of policy. Evidently digital photography is catching on quicker than they expected.

So expect some heavy cutting of the product range, and other brand filmd that are actually Kodak ...
