Hello All...

Just wanted to say hello to everyone... I'm quite excited to be involved in this timelapse project, I missed last years...

A few things:

1. I work at a commercial recording studio, and would be happy to help in anyway w/ the audio/music side if needed...

2. The 17-year cicada brood will be ...

If you can deal w/ the fact that it only offers auto exposure (although it does have EE lock), the Canon 514xls is a great camera you can get at a reasonable price... I've been very happy w/ mine, which I purchased for around $50. Excellent image quality, stability, etc... I've heard people also ...

Porst Synchroton Super 8 projector (stepless speed control), original halogen is replaced with normal 40W light bulb, removed optics from the projector, 12x macrolens for my Sony D8 camera which is pointed to projectors film gate and that's it.

Were you able to find a 40w buld that fit the ...

Thanks for the info - thats all consistent w/ what I've heard so far about the ag-ez50u... Apparently the pv-dv953 is almost the exact same camera (ccd system, lens, controls), but its top loading instead of bottom loading and has some extra 'consumer' features (mpeg4 encoding to SD cards for ...

Anyone using Panasonic (AG-EZ50U or PV-DV953) for TRANSFER??

Curious if anyone has any experience using panasonic's 1/6" 3ccd cameras (AG-EZ50U or PV-DV953 or Japanese equivalent) for film to video transfer?

I've done alot of research and for my budget these cameras seems like a very good deal (around $1200) for a 3ccd camera w/ all manual controls. The ...

What you should be concerned about is that someone in Russia is using a 'stolen' or 'hacked' paypal account to send you money - thats why he wouldn't want it shipping to the confirmed address (the person they're stealing from), instead to some other remote location...

I'm not sure if paypal will ...

Barry -

Thanks for the response... I'll have to sacrifice another roll to the kino and see if I can get better results - I'll try shooting at 24 only.

Don't know if you remember, but I contacted you about setting up an anamorphic w/ the kinoflex - I gave up when I saw the first roll come back, so ...

Has anyone had this problem w/ a kinoflex?

Any ideas what might causes this in terms of the mechanics of the camera? Any one have experience fixing Kinos?

Thanks -

PAL vs. NTSC DVDs

There are indeed both PAL and NTSC format DVDs.

In my experience though, this doesn't matter. My consumer RCA (aka US brand) DVD player will play PAL or NTSC format properly w/ no problem - it does the conversion automatically... I think this is common. I always burn PAL format SVCD because of the ...

I was suprised to find that all the Walmarts in my area process super 8 - Often the people at the counter don't know, but look for the glossy flip cards that list all their services. You'll find it in special processing, w/ B&W film. It just says "Movie/Cine Film Processing" or something. You just ...

The change to 24fps should be reflected by a change in the effective shutter speed. This change will modify the recommended stop shown on your meter.

You can find more info on recent threads here about calculating the shutter speed, although they're often listed in the manual for a given camera ...

btw- I've also been using Walmart - which is 2 weeks and 4.50 a roll, but they almost lost my first roll... took 3 weeks, but I finally got it. Overall seems to be a good deal. I stopped ordering prepaid because of it.

I recently got 4 rolls back from Switzerland that was mailed direct from the U.S. (Kentucky to be exact).

The rolls came back in around 3 or 4 weeks. Quality was excellent. Packing was limited, they were just stuck in an envelope, but they survived w/ no problems...

While we're off the subject... :)

Just wanted to share for anyone who wasn't aware - "The Ring" - the US film is a remake of an excellent Japanese film called "Ringu". There is a Japanese sequel, Ring II, and a prequel - Ring 0. There is also a korean remake of the movie (which I haven't seen), can ...

First - Thanks for all the responses...

To clarify:

This was a cartridge of Kodachrome, and one that I had purchased recently directly from Kodak Ent. Imaging. I had 7 rolls from them, and this was the only one that had a problem. I shot half the roll on the Kino, and half on my Canon 514xls ...
