Example: The needle shows 5.6 in automatic mode. You then go over to the manual mode and turn the knob so the needle goes back to 5.6. Now you have frozen the exposure at 5.6. If you think 5.6 is slightly underexposing the film, you´ll have to choose a number lower than 5.6
