Moviestuff: Will a better name make it more reliable or so vastly more cost effective that the production community will suddenly start showing it more respect?

Roger: You are a smart man that I respect a lot. I look up to your advice (and I'm sure everyone will agree) more than you realize. I am ...

I agree. Anything is better than super-duper 8. That is the dumbest name I have ever heard of. Its almost a joke; how can we sell the idea of widescreen super8 to professionals, those who shoot as a hobby, and potential newbie's if it's referred to as 'SuperDuper 8'. I would vote 'wide 8' or how ...

Oh yeah? America gave $16.2 billion in 2003; the European Union gave $37.1 billion. In 2002, those numbers were $13.2 billion for America, and $29.9 billion for Europe. (Source: New York Times)

Right on Ccortez. I think ...

I get frustrated to hear people talk of both sides of issues and not do a damn thing about it.
Its either put up or shut up.

Here is an interesting read.. for those looking at the HD homemade option.
I ran into this article today.

Bono Films

Hey, scott.
I have used their regular telecine lab services. They have been extremely helpful, and the footage transfered looked great. I have looked into the bonolabs division and am considering the tapeless for a future project.

Here is another option. If you are doing just super8 transfer. When ...

Can someone explain.

Can someone explain or point me to a discussion if it has already been touched.. People seem to love Ektachrome over Kodachrome. What are its advantages/disadvantages?.. Does Ektachrome, the new version not look as old-style-dated as the Kodachrome "look"? Is this version sharper? I always thought ...

Mattias--

Are you saying that FCP-HD is a functional Online(Uncompressed) editng suite??

If this is that case then it is revolutionary. As for my down and dirty 2k overview it was not intended to be used as a guide for Super8 but as I said a brief overview.

Good Luck

It is uncompressed HD ...

I am slightly skeptical of this service...Plus, I don't think that QT Files are by any means the industry standard . Will you be able to then take the files into a Lustre suite for color correction?? I dunno.

Nigel thanks for your input/response. I wonder if more of the industry will be using ...

oh. my post above that price to price comparison does not take into account the tape costs/Harddrive borrowing cost.. or the film prep. its just transfer cost vs transfer cost based on their setup specs.

Comparing apples to oranges

How does it compare to a Spirit transfer?

Well, at Flying Spot in Seattle, their standard rate is $400 an hour for a super 8 to HD transfer....... These guys you posted about are offering, according to their pdf price list a $650 an hour level . I don't know what their speed is. So you are ...

Tapeless Harddrive Super8 HD Transfer Info

hey everyone. tell me what you think of this option. How the HD Cineglyph compares to the Spirit? What does Roger think their setup? Or if this is a good price for HD Super8 as quicktime files. 1920x1080 24p what they claim. will do a crop to fit 1920x1080 or matte it 4x3 with left and right black ...

Re: Hp digital cams are awful
