Agfa Microflex 200

I acquired an Agfa Microflex 200 S8 camera today, along with an editor, which I found in a charity shop.

I've found out very little about it online, so I'm wondering if you can all help me work out what it can do. I'm assuming it's a 40/160 camera, judging by the button inside the film compartment ...

The Canon AF310XL is a nice cam, as someone has mentioned - small and light, BUT only suitable for K40 and Tri-X, so once you've used up your last K40, it's not a lot of good for colour film-making as it can't handle E64T. Might be quite good for Cinevia 50, though - I'm planning on trying a roll in ...

Bell & Howell Filmosonic XL 1225

I'm now the new owner of one of these cameras, recently acquired from a friend for the price of postage. I got it because I was after something suitable for E64T, and I think it will do the job.

I've been unable to find much out about the camera - perhaps you could all help? It seems to be an 18fps ...

you'll need a hole in the battery compartment cover, and they're no good if you have to stack one battery on top of another.

BULLSHIT.

Well, I don't know if I'd put it like that, but, from all the research I've done on this, I think scott is right on this one Splee .

I was worried about it ...

A European supplier for this film is great news - it's a bit expensive, but it can be used in cameras designed for K40! Does anyone know if the price with processing included from GK Film will include return postage to the UK?

I'm going to get a few of these. :D

Two other expensive options exist..Wien cells and an adaptor which allows a smaller battery with a voltage regulator set at 1.35V to be inserted in the original battery compartment.

Wien cells only work if the small hole on each battery is exposed to air - so you'll need a hole in the battery ...

They are 1.5v and it says PX625A on the battery.

OK in some cameras, but not so good in others - best to try. The original mercury PX625 batteries were 1.35v, and ...

Eumig Mark 605D projector bulbs

Can anyone tell me (a) what kind of bulb the Eumig Mark 605D takes, (b) where I might buy one in the UK and (c) how to fit it?

Cheers

Yup - just use rechargeables. I use NiMH AA batteries in just about everything - cameras, flashgun, PDA, personal audio, the lot - with no problems whatsoever. They are enormously cheaper than using alkalines, and last pretty well.

My son (aged 5) loves anything mechanical - especially things that spin - so he gets very excited when Daddy gets his projector out. All the things that appeal about Super 8 really appeal to children - it's robust and mechanical and tactile, and makes noises and has atmosphere. :)

I can't see him ...
