So the manual iris broke deal...I assume auto mode works fine still? I picked one up today in fantastic shape. But this is broken. The meter lights and meters perfectly with the trigger pulled part way.
The zoom is also sluggish. But honestly in such an odd place I'd rather use the stick.

Re: Canon 512XL manual aperture not working
9 year dead thread...cool!
Just picked up a 512XL in fantastic condition. Well kept. I too though have a manual mode iris that isn't doing anything apparently. The knob pulls out fine and turns. But the needle goes to f/1.2 and stays.
In auto mode the needle tracks light perfectly. But. Does that ...

Yeah, 100' spool ain't that big! only like a 4"x1" box. I will double wrap them first in Ziploc sandwhich bags, and then a big freezer bad. I'm thinking the freezer might be better because we have a huge chest type freezer that doesn't circulate air to produce cold...might be lower humidity that way ...

Storage after exposure but before developing
I think my subject says it all. I have 8 rolls of film I shot of 16mm movie film. All either Tri-X B&W or color Kodak films. I do not have the money right now for developing at $25/roll (100' each). What is the best way to store these until I can? Should I just keep them in a dark cool place? Or ...

I once left alot of exposed footage on the floor of a car which got very hot - it developed okay and they guy in the lab told me unexposed film is more succeptable to heat damage than exposed but undevelopd film.

I'm worried, Help!
Hi guys. We are in process of moving from SoCal to Colorado. I left all my films, gear, and chemical film cleaner/conditioner in a tub to be put in the car. When we were loading up the car to leave, I realized all of it ended up in the 53' moving truck that is destined for New Mexico and Arizona. I ...
