Shooting Tri-X
I'm going to be shooting some tri-x soon, actually about 10 carts. I haven't shot any since they changed it a few years ago. I seem to remember reading that they decreased the grain and contrast on it when they changed it? What are the real differences? I really love everything I have shot with it ...

Beaulieu 6008S Repair
So I pulled my minty 6008s out of it's case for the first time in a couple of years and found it to be mal-functioning. It was perfect last time I used it and sadly now it is not. The plastic FPS knob has broken off and the switch... which I believe to be the culprit of the problem dropped inside ...

I have to admit, there really isn't much of a budget, the whole project went way over budget in recording costs. Crew, that depends on how much beer we can buy at the end of the day right. So this is more or less a call to Guerrilla filmakers, the ones that do what they do, and do it well, because ...

Want to shoot a music video?
I am part of LA based indie project ala Joy Division, Depeche Mode, Cure, New Order etc. looking to shoot a music video on Super8. Unfortunately there is no pay, just experience, it's indie afterall. No really, we do have access to some equipment--- camera, editing, etc., but if you have your own ...

argh... the art-ray CMOS camera, I trid one out in november of 04, and at that time couldn't find anything to work well with it. It was a frustrating venture. It was the ARTCAM-200MI 2 megapixel version. I did eventually get it to capture with my WP by using the supplied capture software and a bnc ...

great looking video!! I love the green hue too! I have two questions, what kind of lights did you use in the car scenes? Looks like a light on his lap and next to him near the door. Where did you find the camera to use for the tap, and did you have to modify it? I've always wanted to build a video ...

I'm a little late to this discusion but will put my 2 cents in anyway. I have a G4 Sawtooth originally purchased in 1999, as a 350mhz machine. 2 years ago I upgraded the processor to a 1.4ghz chip(single) and 896 Ram as a interim until I bought a G5. It is running my ProTools HD rig with absolutely ...

I really like the look of that stock, I never really liked what I got from plus-x so I mainly used tri-x, did you push or pull when you processed it? It really reminds me of the old tri-x.

HD pixels aspect ratio
Does anybody know if the PAL and NTSC Pixel aspect ratios carry over to HD? I'm able to play both formats just fine on my HD set so now I'm curious. I know that my scaler is taking care of the PAL-->>NTSC conversion, but it seems that with HD, pixels should be square since I've noticed all the HD ...

super8 in pete yorn video for "burrito"
I'm not sure about this, but as far as I know the workprinter is the only transfer device were you can pullback and see the sprocket holes???
Anyway I was just watching the Pete Yorn video for "burrito" which has quite a bit of super8 and there is a shot in the middle where you can see the whole ...
