Thanks! And I do know what you mean, that's exactly what I was going for with the music.Andersens Tears wrote:Hi, nice use of lighting. The music gave it a video nasty feel - if you know what I mean!

My film from Straight8
Just posted my film from Straight8 online. I couldn't afford to fly out to the UK for the screening
So I haven't really heard what anyone thinks about it, aside from friends and family, so I'd really appreciate some feedback. Thanks!

Question about Editing
I'm relatively satisfied with the results of my entry for straight8 this year, and I think I'm ready to try a larger project. I'm considering 16mm--this film wouldn't have any dialog, so I'm looking at getting a Bolex or a Krasnogorsk-3, and recreating the sound effects during post.

Lighting with haze spray...safety question
I'm preparing to shoot my short for Straight8, and plan on shooting in a small room filled with haze spray, specifically "Fantasy FX Professional Haze" by CITC.

Location Scouting
I'm preparing to start location scouting for my first short film, which I'll be shooting with my Beaulieu 4008 ZM II on Kodak Plus-X 7265 B&W reversal.
I want to take still photos of the locations I look at, and would prefer to simulate the exposure of the movie camera as much as possible. I have a ...

Re: My First Telecine Attempt...
I was considering bringing it into Final Cut and setting up a filter, and use keyframes to adjust the levels...once I have the brightest and the darkest points, it should be easy to set up keyframes for them throughout the length of the clip. Not sure if I want to go through all that trouble though ...

My First Telecine Attempt...
...turned out looking like butt.
I'm using a PAL camcorder, a Chinon projector (don't know the model off the top of my head), and a no-name telecine accessory that's basically a small box with a lens, mirror, and screen.

Idea for a website
I don't think I would be the one to start this, I'm not really interested in starting a website lol But I came up with an idea while I was helping a friend brainstorm for him website, and thought I'd share.

Re: Blu-Ray - about to die....... - in 12-15 months -
If more people don't adopt Blu-Ray, that doesn't mean Blu-Ray will be in danger. That just means Sony will have to license cheaper manufacturers, like from China for instance, to start making cheap Blu-Ray players, which will drive the price of the players down significantly. That's how DVD players ...

Re: make up
This is a good question, I would be interested in knowing where to get a book like that as well.
A costume reference book that shows costumes from various parts of the world throughout history would be very useful as well.

I don't know, but I liked that program too.

Which film to use, and where to have processed?
I shot an outdoors test reel of Ektachrome 64T and just got it back from Dwayne's--that being my first step into any film format--from what I can see on my viewer it came out great...I won't have a projector to view it on until later this week.
Anyway my question is, what film stock should I use ...
