Fantastic Planet Interview on my super16mm / super 8mm short
Attached is a link to an interview where I discuss shooting super16mm and super 8mm film my new short Vengeance de los Muertos, playing as a part of the Fantastic Planet Film Festival April 18th, 2013. Among the shots, I shoot footage from a demolition derby car with a super 8 zip tied to the dash ...

Voodoo Swing, "Keep on Rollin'" super 8mm album promo
Here is a promo I did for the band, Voodoo Swing's new album "Keep on Rollin'" shot entirely on super 8mm. I drove with them in their '69 Lincoln Continental from Phoenix to Flagstaff then Lake Havasu along with some cutaways in and around town. Please "like", it's in a contest right now.

Re: Festivals and copyright of story source?
As was said on the other board, "no". However, you can try for "festival rights". Rights sold to filmmakers at a reduced rate, for festival distribution only. Sometimes with the understanding that if the project goes into general distribution and further agreement will be struck. I would go with the ...

Re: tripod
Woods is right. Cheap tripods are not worth the time. the degrade the quality of your production and are poorly constructed. I have a sachtler tripod too, but I understand that may be out of most filmmakers budget. Look at bogen / manfrotto as the cheapest you would like to spend and you won't go ...

Re: Forget RED. Shoot Film
Obviously Kodak is seeing major decline in film sales, but what about the Motion Picture division only? I'd bet its not that much.
And after all the 35mm Kodachrome I bought I must have spiked that number up a little! :D
These are the overall numbers, including the consumer film division which ...

Hey Matt,
Footage looks great! Although I wouldn't expect anything less. Your work is always top notch

Re: New Music Video, tri-x cross processed, Automatic Erasers
I am really looking forward to trying the new vision 500t v3. Part of the reason this video was shot on tri-x is, the film was left over from another shoot. So it was already paid for, so to speak. Also, I was given full reign to do whatever I wanted. So I got a real chance to experiment, which was ...

Re: New Music Video, tri-x cross processed, Automatic Erasers
I would have never thought that Tri-X could cope in such low light.
Thanks. I would not have thought it would have done so well either. We did a test processing as reversal and the latitude just wasn't there. Also, don't forget what I edited out. I had over 3 cartridges where there still wasn't ...

New Music Video, tri-x cross processed, Automatic Erasers
Click here to view my latest directorial effort, a music video for the Automatic Erasers' song - England Flies - shot entirely on Super 8. The film is Tri-X (7278) cross processed as negative, and the live performance footage was pushed 2 stops. The film was shot on location with all practical ...

Wow - great video!
Did you do any color correction to it? Also some clips were a bit 'hazey' - was that added or was just exposed like that?
Well done
Thanks. Color Correction was done all in Telecine. Cinelicious in Hollywood ...
