Re: Walmart ceases Super 8 processing
I guess I'm confused. Fuji didn't do the processing but instead sent it on to Dwayne's in KS. Were you made aware because Walmart/Fuji refused to process your Super 8 film? Also, where are you located?

Re: affordable telecine?
I personally use MovieLab in Rockville MD. for my Super16 processing and HD scans. You can see an example here : http://vimeo.com/10735477
They however dont offer Super8 processing and transfers at this time.

Re: affordable telecine?
it was by far THE WORST capture work I've ever seen from a professional service.
You can see that in their sample video on that site. Ouch.
I said "My father took several of his old films there and was happy with it". What I didn't say is that he's 72 years old and his vision is not the greatest ...

Re: affordable telecine?
Adam,
Yes, I can do it for you in short order. PM me the details of what you need done with a phone number and I'll call you to discuss. Once I have your films in hand, it should only take a couple of hours to get them ready for you.
BTW - As a test a few months back I dropped off 150ft of K40 to ...

Re: Reminder: Dec 30 Last Day for Kodachrome process
Mine came back unprocessed, 7 weeks after I'd sent them out. 5 silent and 1 sound. So disappointed.
Unprocessed? Im sorry to hear that but what's that all about? I received my two rolls of 16mm back yesterday processed. Did you send it way after the 1st or is Dwaynes just putting their foot down ...

Just received mine as well tonight at 7:13pm EST. Looks like Dwayne's is coming through for the Kodachrome stragglers!

Re: Reminder: Dec 30 Last Day for Kodachrome process
You're welcome StoneBuilder!
I received an email today (email below) and it concerns me and is not at all what I was told on the phone. It's a response to an email message I sent on Jan 2nd asking if there would be any considerations made for packages being delivered late due to delivery issues ...

Re: Reminder: Dec 30 Last Day for Kodachrome process
FYI - I just spoke to Dwayne's and they say they are at least two+ weeks behind on the final processing of Kodachrome so all of the news reports and other information saying they processed their last roll on Dec 30th 2010 are in fact not true. I sent two rolls of 16mm for processing via UPS ...

Re: Any one get a transfer from Cinelab?
Wooda,
Yes, sorry I didn't clarify better. It was B&W (Plus-X & Tri-X) Super 8 that I sent for processing. I had also sent along two rolls of 500T as well and it was also extremely dirty when I got it back. I only sent the 4 rolls of B&W back to them so they could see what I was talking about. I've ...

Re: Any one get a transfer from Cinelab?
I sent a bunch of B&W (Plus-X & Tri-X) to Cinelab for processing and when it came back is was unusable. The films were filthy and full of black spots and trash. I sent them back and when they returned, I received a note from them saying that the films looked okay to them and that "maybe I should try ...

Re: Two Busted Cameras
Aaron,
The 514xl cameras are prone to main drive gear failure. The plastic deteriorates and the teeth break off the gear and get cought in the primary gear mechanism. If you open the camera, you may find this is what happened.
