Re: What’s happening in 3 days?
Well, it was extended some 14 days (broke some ribs skateboarding a week ago and could hardly move - better now and back to work).
Finally doing a re-launch of the filmshooting website (The counter is some fancy maintenance mode plugin).
Hang in there

Re: Tony Shapps had passed away on 10th September, 2023
Rest in peace Tony!
I remember going to London back in the late 1990s and visiting the Widescreen Centre as one of the first cine shops I ever visited. I even shot some super8 of the shop from the outside street. I bought some Svema, russian Super8 films there which I still have 1 unexposed laying ...

Hi Miles,
Unfortunatley I cannot help you, but perhaps you could provide some photos to your post so the members here can get a visual understanding of the problem/location of the screws etc?
Best of luck,
Andreas

Sounds awesome Grace! Really looking forward to see some photos of that. Actually great idea which involves less mods to the machine(s).
Best,
Andreas

Wonder if it was a rugpull all together, only marketing material was released... too bad. Would have been awesome to have Ferrania back from the dead.

That's awesome! Let me know if you need a place to put them. They could be available through Filmshooting if you wish.

Re: Openfilmscanner.org
Hi Jörg!
Yes, I belive that was my domain, but I suspect you're actually referring to another site, openscannerproject.org or somthing? I only held the domain, never used it.
Perhaps archive.org has some cached versions of it?
Best,
Andreas

Hi Grace!
Finally, here comes a seriously late reply to your post. :ymblushing:
I agree that the film transport is good and should be reused. Also I would reuse the sound system, both commag and sepmag for all formats. They are easy to output and record on a PC.

Re: Squeezed Reels?
Yeah I got a batch of Gepe 120m/400ft reels where most of them had this issue. Might try to put them out in the summer sun with some styrofoam pieces in between. Thanks for the tip.

Another filmscanner hits the market (soon)
No affiliation, just curious about all things new. Check it out:
https://www.filmictech.com/
They got some nice features, the metadata/film condition report feature is a nice one.

Welcome back guys! Great to see you all here again!
I might need to update my profile pic. Getting older and grayer. Same old same old. Still work with film and film scanning besides my IT job. Haven't shot super8 for a while, but have all the gear here still.
