Cool!
Never would have noticed that. Thanks!
That seems to work just fine. I see them moving and switching.
So if the mechanics are working, I wonder if the electronics may have an issue. Is there a way to reset the state at all so that it's not expecting reverse?
Thanks for the help so far ...

Thanks for the reply.
Where are the "stop-pins?"
I'll see if they move.

Nikon R8 : Experts please help diagnose?
I just bought a mint R8.
I fixed some slight corrosion in the battery compartment. I wasn't happy to see it but it ran as soon as I got it cleaned up. No prob.
I ran the camera at 24fps, 18, 54 and everything ran smoothly. I tried the functions to test them (fade in / out).

Re: Why many 8mm films buffs skip this Ebay?
Uh, yeah, for an R8 with fungus on the lens and a big gash out of the side. "Nice" doesn't really describe it well. I think an R10 might fetch 600 bucks in excellent condition. That dude's fruit.

Fastwind : I think you nailed it.
The "is the end near" mentality is so passive. It's sort of like saying "do you think they're going to stop printing vinyl records?"
Who knows. No one. But we all have the ability to keep buying film, and in numbers it makes a difference!

Here's aNOTHER one:

Now, I dunno why anyone would pay an extra 30% for a 40 year old roll of plus-x that wasn't frozen. I'm sure it's just rotten plastic at this point.
I just don't get it. Still.

Re: Why many 8mm films buffs skip this Ebay?
No, that's not ringing a bell.
I got to thinking that maybe these folks are trying to make up for "sales tax." However, this listing (the one above) is at 15% higher than a fresh roll of tri-x, and the buy-it-now price is 30% higher than fresh tri-x. So, that's pretty high sales tax they're making ...

Here's what I don't understand. Why are there ALWAYS auctions for film that are over priced?

Re: Why many 8mm films buffs skip this Ebay?
I snagged a mint Nikon R10 for 150 bucks on ebay. Estate sale I'm guessing. I keep an eagle eye on certain items I'm in the market for.
The eBay app for iPhone let's me jump on stuff like that no matter where I am. Love it.
Oh, and good point about advertising equipment here, and other film boards ...

Re: Spacecraft model for my sci-fi super8 film
Bravo! I've been interested in trying something like this myself for a while. Never had a good script though. Hooray for models. "Moon" was just done using models, and I hope it comes back into film vogue. It's so realistic!

Re: Best density achieved with shooting Vision2 200 negative?
I'd strongly suggest a cart or 2 of 500T for the church. Your typical church has such subtle lighting that 200 will fall short. Almost EVERY church I've shot in needed 500T, and registered as underexposed on my canon 1014XL-S

Re: Scoopic sync?
I think that short segments make sense. If I can sync for 30-60 seconds I'm happy. I had bernie test mine and it's almost crystal (within .05% on average). So I'm not gonna sweat it. It also did fine on a few tests I did.
