Avisynth comes with windows GUI, doesn't it?

No, AVIsynth is a seperate program.

Slowing down or speeding footage is not really an option for me, since this is a music video, although I know it would make the best pictures.

I don't understand why not. You slow down the video and the audio ...

Re: NTSC to PAL or 25fps to 24fps... What's the best way?

How do I compensate for this? I do not want to slow down or speed up the video, as this is a music video and images fits the music.

Is there a way to make frame blending or how do you come about this problem? How do you avoid the jerky movements without changing the speed of your film?

Oh, I use ...

Perhaps it has to be a point of eligibility that each contributor has the international rights for each piece of music secured and that they sign a waiver absolving the organisers/burners/sellers of the dvd of any liability should there be any problem. This might sound cumbersome but really is a ...

It has been a few weeks and I haven't got a single submission. Maybe we should extend the entry dates till the end of the year?

Dual layer also has a pause when it switches layers and that is pretty annoying if it switches in the middle of a feature, which most dual layer discs do...

Unfortunately, I do not have the means or the know-how or access to the right technology to design and save DVD menus. Is this a problem? Nahie, is it possible for you to use some sort of stock DVD menu design for people in my situation?

I do have some generic stock menus I could use for people ...

I think this is going quite well ;-) Double or Triple DVD sounds nice as well..... The "rules" in previos post was fine for me!

Will you guys deal the stuff from europe / us together so that we will have same version on both "regions" (that will put the costs a bit upper, right?)?

I think new ...

Just some thoughts...

Is it possible to say work out a price and then when people send in thier clips they can add in some money aswell so they have already paid for a copy of the dvd. As I am sure everyone who enters some footage will want the entire dvd aswell. Just a thought.

Also I was ...

I'm not so sure I like the idea of having one or two people deciding which films get on and which are rejected. I make, for the most part, experimental short narratives. What if the person who is deciding is really into say, snowboarding docs and happens to HATE anything that isn't like that? So ...

So I would reccomend that it be just the disc
that is shipped out, no case. People who want cases could download
a jpg off the net and print it and buy a case seperately at walmart.

Well you should really ship it in something so it doesn't get scratched or broken during shipment. I have 25 amaray ...

Hobby is fine with me, but making it available here could help financing this great web-site.

If anyone wants to put up ~$1,500, I say go for it... ;)

I think we should agree on some rules for the DVD. Here's some suggestions:
1. Max 1 main production (short film, musicvideo etc.) per person ...

I will also be willing to contribute in creating a microsite promoting the DVD, but if the DVD is going to be commercially available DVD-R pressings are not godd enough. Cheap solutions never work, see http://www.neubauten.org/email.txt for a story of how not to do it...

If we assume 100 dvd's would be "ordered":
15min x 100 is 25 hours! If you are workin two hours per day (~7-8 dvd's) = two weeks... But it's up to you ;-)

But how we can make it happen?

Petteri

That isn't really that bad. I have 4 computers here at work so I do other things while the DVDs are ...

I think this is a great idea. I have a DVD-R burner (4x). Customflix looks good but $10 + $3 shipping? DVD-R blanks are as cheap as $1.50 each, maybe another $1 for the case (though I might have a box of 50 or so amaray cases I could donate), and regular shipping is as cheap as $1 or ~$3.90 priority ...

I have a Nizo 4056 which takes 52mm threads. I also happen to have an anamorphic lens with 52mm threads for my Sony TRV900 video cam. I use the same filters on my 4056 and TRV900 but haven't tried the anamorphic lens yet (well I put it on the cam but haven't shot anything with it). I think a setup ...
