Double super 8.

I have some boxes of Double Super 8 Kodachrome. They're 100"/30m rolls, and I was wondering what I could use this in. It would not work in a 16mm camera, correct? Would this work in standard 8 cameras like the small bolexes, if respooled on smaller spools?
Thanks!

Canon Scoopic 16M Battery

Hello, and merry Christmas to all!

I've been looking into buying a Scoopic 16M, and I can get a reasonably affordable one with charger and two batteries, however, the batteries aren't in good shape.
How much would it cost to recell these?

Most of it is on youtube. I'm pretty curious to find out what they used.. I've also heard that it's not just super8, but there's also just video mixed in. Apparently the footage is done by Rain Kathy Li.

Re: Quick Exposure Question

You´re partially right. If you would measure the reflected light at a close distance, you would get different readings. However, what you have probably read, is an incident light reading. With an incident light reading, you do not measure the reflected light by your subject, but tun your ...

Re: Canon 5D MK II

Film and digital is just different, there's nothing to beat. Such discussions never go anywhere good.

It does look like a nice camera, Canon had to follow with video after the Nikon D-movie function.. Shallow DoF in HD video seems nice.

Re: Sticky shutter! On Canon 814XL-s

Darn, that does not sounds as easy as I had hoped. I'm not to tech-savvy.
It came with the original canon chestpod II, original microphone, case, some filters and some old film, and a great metal case with foam-padding.
So if I get this correctly, the variable shutter button and the real shutter are ...

Re: Sticky shutter! On Canon 814XL-s

Thanks! The accessories alone were worth it.
When I try to open or close it, I can't hear anything at all, as if the button just does not work. So this would be simple to fix?
I'm glad to hear you managed to get it working, it would be a shame to just dump such a lovely camera.

Sticky shutter! On Canon 814XL-s

Sorry for all the questions lately, I seem to be in a super8 mood lately.

I went to a photography market today, and saw an 814XL-s for sale. Just out of interest I asked how much it cost, and he brings out a box filled with accessories and tells me 20 euro (29$) will do. I couldn't resist! He did ...

Lensless camera - What would you see?

I recently went through my camera collection to clean up and throw things out, and found an old rather crappy s8 camera - Lancia EM-52. Instead of throwing it out, I thought it'd be fun to open it up and see how it runs, and if possible, replace the lens with a C lens mount so I would be able to use ...

Re: Sticky shutter? on Beaulieu 4008ZM

That's exactly what I'm doing. But maybe you're right, and it's the low supply that doesn't get it running like it should.

What costs can I expect from de Snek?

Re: Sticky shutter? on Beaulieu 4008ZM

The situation I described is when I have the camera hooked up to the charger ( Ansmann AC48), without charging the battery. The charger seemed to work as an AC adapter on my 5008s (It is directly able to run when the charger is hooked up to it), so I thought it was the same on the 4008ZM. Is this ...

Sticky shutter? on Beaulieu 4008ZM

A little while ago I found a Beaulieu 4008ZM for a nice price, and I couldn't pass up on the offer. I have a nice set of cameras, so it wasn't needed at all, so it was only now that I bought a charger and checked if it worked.

Sadly it doesn't, The electric zoom works, although noisier then on my ...

Thanks for all your replies, very useful!
I've decided to leave it on auto (If correct, the 1014 electronic autozoom should be able to read the speed of the Tri-X fine, right?)
Shot the first 30 seconds on monday, which was a very nice experience. The camera seems to work like a charm!
I had trouble ...
