Re: Foma kits?
Why do you make experiments with the bleach part of the Foma process? In my opinion the bleach is the most critical part when processing Fomapan-R. I would suggest mix it use it as it is described in the Foma papers and discard it after one film is processed. On the other hand you can simply make ...

Re: Reloadable single 8
Well every Single-8 cartridge is reloadable. There is no need to open the cartridge for reloading! As there is no locking mechanism in the cart you can simply pull out the exposed film without any damage of film and cart. When you cut off the exposed film, about 5 - 10cm from the original film (both ...

Re: Projector Issues
Here is a link how to renew the driving belt on your B&H projector:
http://www.paulivester.com/films/projec ... h_belt.htm
Unfortunately the belt is not a simply round type, so you have to buy the original spare part.
Good luck,
Walter

Re: Processing Fomapan 100 - a bit out of date though
Hi David!
The date on the Foma reversal kit is not the date of production, the date means "use before". I do not expect problems with the acid, no problems with KmNO4 (as far as the crystals did not get wet), no problem with the clearing bath. You should discard the fixing bath (thats cheap), and ...

Re: Eumig Chemo Splicer - Film Cement
Well I do have the original Eumig ECS formula. I made some experiments and the fluid works. Unfortunately I found that the quality of the splicing is bad. I have seen that the splicing breaks at about 1/5th of the power of a conventional cement splicing. This fact is clear when you considder that ...

Eumig Chemo Splicer - Film Cement
Does somebody know what cement to use with the EUMIG Chemo Splicer Model Z01? Regular cement does not work. I know there was a special Fluid named ECS for this splicers, this is not available in the market anymore.
Maybe it can be mixed by its components.

Eumig S810D bulb socket
Just look for a socket which is used for 12 volt halogen home illumination. You get this socket at every DIY store. Price for a socket made of ceramic (is better than plastics) with attached high temperature cabeling is maximum EUR 3.-- (which is the same in US$). You do not get the original socket ...

Lightmeter reading with mirror shutter
When using Beaulieu 2008 or 4008 in MANUAL MODE (do not have original lens), the lightmeter pointer indicates under exposure as soon as the camera takes pictures. It is the same symptom like on my K3, which is a fully manual construction. After setting the correct exposure (motor is not running yet ...

Orwo NP 55 for reversal - HELP!
Does somebody know if the ORWO NP 55 b/w cine film type can be processed to positive with reversal chemistry? Is the film on clear layer or on grey layer?
Thanks for information

Processing Fomapan 100 2nd exposure
Hi David!
I use and process Fomapan R100 in 2x8, DS8 and 16mm myselfe. For reversal processing I use Fomadon LQR in a 50ft Lomo spiral tank. I get quite good results on the following terms (10m film):
All solutions on 20 Celsius!
1..prewash........water................2min
2..1.development..96ml ...

Reload of Single-8 cartridges is possible and can be done by everyone without the need of any special tooling! You do not need to open the cartridges, new film can be tape-spliced to the originally loaded film. You can use your Single-8 cartridges again and again and again ....

To anyone who has a Kinoflex Quartz camera
Hi Edwin!
The cameras automatic exposure meter is calibrated for 50 ASA. The camera does not read the films ASA rating from the notch in the S-8 cartridge as almost all other cameras do. You have to override the standard 50 ASA calibration by turning the knob to -1 for 100 ASA, to -2 for 200 ASA ...
