Finishing to Film

Hello.

I know the process for creating a movie on DVD. Film, process, transfer, edit, burn. If I wanted to finish on film (16mm), what considerations are required? Particularly with respect to transfer, because I would still like to edit digitally. I know there are several methods for film to be ...

Thanks Toby.
I know that it's useful beyond the last specified distance on the ring, but if a subject walks into view at 6 ft., will Infinity keep that in focus as well? Or do you have to rack down to 6 ft., thereby losing focus on the more distant background?

"Infinite" focus

I've always been a bit (a lot) unclear about the infinity setting on the focus ring. Does it mean that everything in the field is in focus? Is this a poor man's deep focus? What is sacrificed by depending on this setting, if anything?

Thanks.

Merci mes freres. I went with West Camera.

I got some 64T and one dose of Plus-X. I already shot the B+W, using my Emdeko: http://super8wiki.com/index.php/Emdeko_ZL-7200
I wanted to experiment with the 32 fps slo-mo. Fingers crossed. I filmed at f2 and f2.8 for the most part. Some interiors and an ...

rental options

I'm planning a short 16mm film and I'm able to rent gear through a local co-op. Which is the better camera, generally speaking: the Arriflex BL or the Eclair NPR?
Strengths, weaknesses.
Both cameras rent for $25 per day.

Tinhorn Films is, admittedly, just a name I devised in order to look semi-pro. Pretty hokey, I know. Point taken.

Thanks again.

First kick at the can...

I finally wrapped my first movie. Rented Bolex, 200' of 250D Neg 16mm, 50' of CineChrome 8mm, some actors, some rain, and a whack of Filmshooting.com advice last spring.

Nice new avatar, Mitch.

Look for it in the upcoming sequel to "The Incredible Hulk". At minimum $115 per day rental to the production, ten days will pay for the whole kit and kaboodle (after-market kaboodle).

Unprocessed film crossing the Can/US border

I'm just about to send a roll of R8 to Dwaynes for processing and I'm wondering about the possibility of customs officials opening the can (tiny 25' roll) and exposing the film.

Any advice on ensuring this doesn't happen?

Thanks.
