Re: Focus Issue With Nizo Professional

Hi;

Yeah, click the macro focus ring into place and then slide the zoom in macro range till the lines in the viewfinder match on something a few feet away, it's a bit random but it works!

Re: my velvia test to watch....

Hi, No I set it at the correct ASA, As I mentioned I usually transfer with a slightly lower contrast set up and cine gamma settings with my Canon XHA1 resulting in a slightly less contrasty/saturated look I think this may have something to do with the subtler colours. Also the typical British ...

Re: my velvia test to watch....

Hi, thanks for the nice responses! Yes it certainly is Velvia from Wittner that I shot here and NOT 100D. I have shot a lot of 100D and although I agree it has some similarities I find the velvia much sharper and actually less red in the skin tones, all in all a better stock for my use. I transfered ...

my velvia test to watch....

Hi, I've put up a small version of a wittner velvia test I did recently here http://www.vimeo.com/1531073 with examples of skin tone. Hope it's helpful to anyone wondering about this stock....

Hi,

Great looking piece, really shows what a professional looking format S8 can be, lovely clean telecine..... This is the one problem I've found with transfering the Pro8 neg stocks, the dreaded dirt is so magnified you really need a wet gate transfer or some clever post software.
To the 2nd ...

It's really encouraging but I'm not getting excited until we actually see and hear of a working solution for Velvia in super 8.... As far as we know they are still in the same position as before in this respect, a great idea but not an actual product..... yet that is.

Re: the beauty of tri-x

Small point: when you load a b&w cartridge it disables the 85 filter since the 85 is for colour correction purposes.
Rick

HI,

Not on a Leicina Special though (Christian's cam) which you set manually...

Oliver

I stand corrected. My question now would be, why engage the 85 on b&w film ...

Hi,

Christian, great looking stuff! Can I ask the correct way to set up the Optivaron zoom with the ultra wide-3? Do you need to have the lens on macro or just wide angle? Also where do you set the focus, infinity? I am going to use the same set up and have no time for a test, I know it's really ...

Hi,

I had some pro8 01 tk'd by Andec recently and it was comparable to Todd-ao's acclaimed ursa transfers here in london.

hi,

Interesting to hear about peoples impression that 100D is a tad soft, I have also found this on my 15 carts of Wittner I have shot over the last year, lovely grain and colours but I'm always sent into a panic that my eyepiece has been miss set or my lenses are out some how, then I transfer ...

Hi,

Nice find! These are the guys who used to do alot of the work for Optex and they are saying they can still supply much of that gear like the really wide C-mount primes etc.....
