Hi T-Scan,
Whoops, my fault. Yes it is in fact 4 - 400ft reels and a 50 footer, so its about 1650 ft. My brain isn't functioning today. Its a decent amount, to be sure. I'll speak with my buddy about the timeline. If he wants to go ahead and do it anyway, (he can give the already done DVD's for ...

Portland Workprinter People!!

Astro, T-Scan, Portland folks, -

I've got about 450ft of Super 8 that was entrusted to me to get transferred to video and eventually burned to DVD. I know that some of you have Workprinters out there, anyone care to shoot me a price on X-fer for this to DV? I'll supply the tapestock. Its all ...

Thanks Sam. Question for you, any suggestions on doing a focused search on eBay? I usually just click on the Cameras section the click on the "movie" section once I'm in and then type "Braun Nizo Shoulder Brace" to see what comes up. Thanks! -Eric

Nizo Shoulder Brace??

Hi Guys,
My Braun Nizo shoulder brace died on me last week in Venezuela while on a shoot and I'm trying to source another one. Anyone have one for sale and/or know where I can source one? I've looked on Ebay already. These are the ones that you typically see for sale with some of the Nizo S8 cams on ...

Hey Nigel,
That is so funny, your situation sounds amazingly similar to mine. Love the place, but just can't make a living. I was the same way, barely shooting and getting work and pretty much deciding that managing a snowboard shop for the rest of my life wasn't going to cut it. You nailed the ...

Nigel!!

Hey Nigel, I had no idea you called B-Bowl your home mountain! Its definitely my favorite mountain in a lot of ways. I was in Bozeman from '87-'98. Once I got out of film school at MSU in '91 I just couldn't leave the place. Ended up opening and managing Bozemans first "real" snowboard shop, World ...

I've owned both and both are great cameras depending on what you're looking to do. From what you're saying, I'd definitely go with the Bolex, preferably a newer one like a Rex4 or Rex5. The viewfinders are much bigger and brighter.

If you've got a grand to spend, you're going to have a hard time ...

Hi Roger,
yup, everything they are telling you is pretty much right on. If you want a second option, albeit not as convenient as using someone in Texas, give Kevin Felts a call at Allied Vaughn here in Portland, 800-772-2251. They are one of largest dub houses in the Western U.S. and we have been ...

Thanks for all the info guys. So my next question is:

How available are these Leica Specials out there in the used market and more importantly, how available are the nice M-mount lenses, M-mount to other lens adapters, and something like that Cinegon 10mm?

The Special has 18, 24, and 54 fps, yes ...

Ok, so this poses another question. Glad this was brought to my attention via Christoph's post. I didn't realize that the Leicina Special and the Super/Super RT-1 were different cams. Now I have more questions.

So is the Special a vastly different cam than the Super/Super RT-1? What does the ...

Leicina Super & Super RT-1 differences?

Ok, Leicina owners out there, (and I know there are some diehard owners that lurk here...). Can anyone tell me the difference between the Super and Super RT-1, if any?

Tell me why this 8-64mm lens kicks ass.

Is your gate registration really that much more solid than other cams? Convince me ...

My Nizo professional has both auto B function as well as an intervalometer, (1fps-1frame per minute), that you can use with or without locking the shutter open. For the auto B function, you pretty much always lock the shutter open. I've found that the auto B function works well in some cases. I've ...

Hey Nigel,
All of our 16mm water housings have a similar problem, but its reversed. The bodies are slightly fogged but the lens ports are nice and clean. I would think that Ikelite would have used optical quality, polycarbonate or plexi, or whatever they use for the front and then a non optical ...
