i guess my cement is okay. although i spilled half the bottle so i may as well plan on ordering some more.
i just left the pressure thing on for a few minutes and it bonded just fine. i solved the issue with poor scraping by using 2 frames worth of leader to bond the two lengths and just scraping ...

how to splice, really, i'm at a loss
so far i'm completely unsuccessful in making a good splice. I've got a hahnel super 8 splicer. i'm trying to splice together some ektachrome from different rolls.
sometimes the grinder removes the emulsion cleanly enough although i can barely tell which side is the emulsion side or not.

old old Ektachrome and also very old AGFA Moviechrome film?
Is it still possible to have these stocks processed? I'm bidding on a lot auction, the biggest thing is that the majority of them are sound film.
however, if these are difficult, expensive, or impossible to have processed, then if i'm not outbid i'll have wasted a ton of money.

I got a super 8 camera (a technicolor brand one) from a garage sale, and eventually wanted to try it out. I started by getting a few more cameras from ebay. my current favorite is a bell & howell sound camera that i've been shooting all my footage on.
